Brand Marketing and Performance Marketing will become a lot more blended in 2025. Various digital media platforms are changing their targeting capabilities. Why? They are placing an emphasis on creative now more than ever before. In addition, the ad platform algorithms are following AI models so there’s less manual work for advertisers to do from a campaign setup standpoint (in terms of reaching what you normally would deem as your ideal target audience). If you don’t have your own first party data to serve your ads to, you’re putting your ads in the hands of AI, in hopes it reaches the best qualified audiences. Each month it seems like more and more targeting layers are being removed, especially with Meta, so in a way, your creative (in conjunction with AI ad serving) is going to be your North Star for targeting. Bottomline, for 2025, invest in your creative.
