Battery passport will become mandatory for EVs in the EU starting from 2027. Here is the example of Volvo starting with their EX90 model 🙌🚘 #EVs #sustainability #transparency
Battery passports increasing transparency over supply chain🙌🚘 Volvo Cars is coming up with a battery passport demonstrating; ⚒️origins of raw materials ⚙️components ♻️recycled content and 🌿carbon footprint Battery passports will be mandatory for electric vehicles (EVs) sold in the European Union from February 2027. Great move from the brand to start this initiative with EX90 rolling it out for other models as well in the future. One important part is that I believe this type of digital passports should also provide information and transparency over the social dimensions as well regarding human rights and working conditions in the production of the specific product🙌 Digital product passports are getting more and more important as stakeholders demand more transparency over companies impact via the production of their products. Various sectors including textile, electronics will have to use such mechanisms as well in the near future. Entering a new era of transparency! The EX90s are being delivered in the EU and US this year with battery passports, powered by Circulor. This achievement is the result of ambition and commitment from both Volvo Cars and Circulor since 2019. After years of piloting I am very happy that this is now happening at production scale and the need for Battery Passport pilots belongs to the past. And it is about time ... with market requirements now taking effect in the US and in Europe in 2027, the time for pilots and experiments has passed. All automakers need similar transparency and should start today… PM me if you want to find out more. #BatteryPassport #sustainablesupplychains
In a world first, the Volvo EX90 comes with a battery passport powered by Circulor, containing end-to-end primary data about the battery’s raw materials, components, recycled content and carbon emissions. Nick Carey at Reuters shares the story and Douglas Johnson-Poensgen and Vanessa Butani, head of global sustainability at Volvo Cars, explain the companies' joint ambition to deliver this unprecedented supply chain transparency. The launch of the EX90's battery passports takes us into a new era, demonstrating that this is happening at scale and that the need for piloting has passed. https://lnkd.in/eGhddtD2 #BatteryPassport #Transparency #Sustainability #EVs #Traceability

𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀: 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝘆 As reported by Reuters in June, the Volvo EX90s are being delivered in the EU and U.S. this year with battery passports, powered by Circulor. This passport provides end-to-end primary data on the battery’s raw materials, components, recycled content, and carbon emissions. 🔋 As companies around the globe grapple with achieving end-to-end traceability at production scale, Volvo Cars and Circulor’s achievement can serve as a lighthouse example for the industry. The era of pilot programs is over; the need for full transparency is here to stay so collaboration is key. Let's work together to build a sustainable future. 🌱 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dpSJ7tzG #SupplyChain #Traceability #BatteryPassport #Sustainability #Circularity Douglas Johnson-Poensgen Yue Jin Tay Fearghal Kearney Jessica Green Ali Russell Magda Rychlewska Ellen Carey

Exciting Update for Eco-Conscious Drivers! EU Mandates ‘Battery Passports’ for Electric Cars by 2027. Some of the benefits: - A battery passport will track the history of a battery, including where it came from and what materials were used to make it. This ensures that the batteries are made in an eco-friendly way, reducing harm to the environment. - More Confidence for Buyers: This passport provides detailed information about the battery’s life, including how it was used and how much energy it can still store. This means buyers can be more confident that they’re getting a high-quality, reliable battery. - Easier to Recycle: With all the information in the passport, it’s easier to figure out how to recycle the battery at the end of its life. This helps to reduce waste and supports efforts to use resources more wisely, contributing to a healthier planet. Read more here:

Question: What do these three have in common? 1. The ecological bonus 2. Social leasing 3. The Renault 5 electric and Citroën ë-C3 electric Answer: They’re all French government and industry initiatives that aim to put environmentally friendly #ElectricVehicles within the reach of typical consumers, including the younger generation. My colleague Emmanuelle Bischoffe Cluzel🌍 explains these initiatives, putting them in the context of the wider quest for global #AutomotiveSustainability. She probes the implications of the current situation for individual automakers. With affordability being an increasingly pressing issue for our industry, I'm confident that her blog will trigger many worthwhile discussions.
