Farmers and agricultural marketers should be featuring real people in your social media content - not just the cute animals or picturesque scenes from the field... Building authentic relationships with your audience is more crucial than ever. One of the most effective ways to do this is by featuring real people in your social media content. Take Ivy from Southern Living Magazine, for example. She shares fun, short form videos showcasing both well known and little known recipes and traditions from the across the south. And they're ramped up videos with her across Instagram and Tik Tok. So now whenever I scroll through Instagram, I immediately recognize Ivy. And because I recognize her, I know it's a Southern Living post that I'm going to want to stop on, and I'm often inspired to learn something new or save a recipe to try later. This strategy isn't just for lifestyle brands. Farmers and agricultural marketers can benefit greatly by finding someone on their team to feature in a similar way. Creating a fun series with this person can significantly strengthen your audience connections. Did you know? 🤔 72% of consumers report feeling more connected to a brand when it features employees in its content (according to Sprout Social, Inc.) So, who on your team could be the next Ivy? #socialmediamarketing #agriculture #knowyourfarmer

Need some ideas for social media content this summer that increases engagement? Share a recipe using locally grown produce from your farmers’ market. It promotes your farmers’ market vendors and increases engagement on your account. You can create multiple posts from one recipe: * Create a REEL to show the recipe being made * Release the recipe as step-by-step images (Carousel on Instagram, gallery on Facebook) * Write down the recipe and share it with a static image * Do a LIVE with someone making the recipe When you increase engagement on your account, your other posts have better reach. Think of your social media advertising strategy like a well-tended garden. It's a living, blooming entity that needs consistent care and attention to flourish. 1. 𝐒𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬: Start with a clear, well-thought-out strategy. Like planting seeds, this first step sets the stage for everything that follows. 2. 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧: Cultivate your audience with engaging content, just like how watering helps seeds to sprout. 3. 𝐏𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: Keep your strategy lean and focused by regularly reviewing performance, cutting what doesn't work and nurturing what does, akin to removing weeds and dead branches. 4. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬: Reap the rewards of your hard work. Successful campaigns, like ripe fruits, are the payoff for consistent effort, patience, and strategic adjustments. 5. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: Just as a garden needs ongoing care to keep producing, your social media advertising should be an iterative, ongoing process, continually sowing new seeds of strategy and creativity. As marketers, we need to be gardeners, nurturing our strategies to productivity. What strategies are you sowing in your social media advertising garden?

Once upon a time, in a colorful town called Storyville, there were friendly creatures called Storylings. These Storylings loved to share their adventures and tales with each other. They had a special way of sharing their stories using magical scrolls called "Social Media." Now, Social Media was like a big, bustling market where everyone could share things they liked, such as pictures of their pets, their favorite toys, or even their silly dances. But sometimes, some Storylings didn't use Social Media the right way. You see, there were certain Storylings who thought that the more they shouted about their stories, the more friends they would make. They would stand in the middle of the Social Media market and shout, "Look at me! Look at me!" all the time. But sadly, nobody listened because they were too busy listening to others or trying to share their own tales. Meanwhile, there were other Storylings who understood the true magic of Social Media. They knew that it wasn't just about shouting the loudest, but about sharing things that made others smile or learn something new. These Storylings would share their stories gently, like planting seeds in a garden, and soon, other Storylings would come to listen and share in return. One day, a wise old owl named Professor WiseFeathers gathered all the Storylings in Storyville and taught them the secret of Social Media marketing. He explained that it's not about shouting the loudest, but about being kind, helpful, and sharing things that truly matter. From that day on, the Storylings of Storyville used Social Media wisely. They shared their adventures, their laughter, and their kindness, making Storyville a happier and brighter place for everyone. And so, the moral of the story, little one, is that in the magical world of Social Media, it's not about how loud you shout, but about how much joy and kindness you spread with your stories.
