Power Bi is not only a visualization tool which it is often misunderstood, but a complete business intelligence platform. Here is how I have been using Power Bi to drive Marketing insights. -Processing and cleaning data using the inbuilt transformation functions. -Creating custom columns for data filtration -Mix of charts and graphs to show channel performance -Observe performance over time with the help of trend lines Creating custom measures to highlight key metrics. While it's been an interesting process, I'm still working on learning efficient data model creation and writing DAX code to speed up insights. How have you been using Power Bi and what stood out? NERD ALERT! A massive release in Power BI in June with preview of PBIR files. Basically, the ability to see a bit more of the 'back end' of Power BI Reports. If you aren't knee deep in PBI development, this might leave you scratching your head. Here's a super simple way to look at it: 1. Huge flexibility in seeing JSON so you can create report themes (consistent reporting), 2. Super simply ability to copy content between reports (automation), 3. Insights into change management for report updates (who changed what exact visual from Save 1 to Save 2) and 4. Promoting collaboration (2 minds are indeed better than 1 - not always easily achieved in traditional Power BI). My network knows how passionate I am about automation and efficiency. This is presents a real opportunity to streamline you idea to delivery time for a report.
