Director Spotlight – Maria Marino, FGC Director Maria Marino was elected to the Palm Beach County Commission in 2020 and currently serves as Vice Mayor. She previously served on the Palm Beach Gardens City Council, including as Mayor in 2017 and 2018. Maria holds leadership roles on key boards such as the Solid Waste Authority, Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, and Pal Mar Water Control District, and she’s active in regional planning and transportation initiatives. A recipient of the 2023 Leadership Excellence Award from Leadership Palm Beach County and named 2017 “Woman of the Year” by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, Maria is recognized for her commitment to community service. She has been a long-time LPGA member, mentoring through golf and the community, and is passionate about supporting local nonprofits and initiatives benefiting at-risk youth. Her journey from the State Women’s Amateur Golf Champion in Connecticut to nearly 30 years with the LPGA underscores her dedication, both in sports and public service, where she continues to make a lasting impact.
