Some Indigenous people who use drugs do not feel safe disclosing their drug use to health care providers. Some who did report their drug use have reported worse quality health care than those who didn’t. The FNHA is working to ensure that health care is stigma-free and culturally safe for all Indigenous people. You can read more about our research in the infographic here. However, it is often violated in Romania, so that we have reached the country with the third lowest life expectancy in the EU. One of the causes is the underfunding of the medical system.
