Great podcast! - Much emphasis placed obtaining and creating the most up to date technology to keep false alarms at bay. Two situations are detrimental in an active shooter incident: 1. False alarms 2. Inaccurate, or missed detection. - The business doesn't need to be a Furtune 500 business to afford the systems. Decisions are made to ensure anyone who desires to have this level of protection can have it. - We need to hear these conversations so we are constantly aware of the dangers associated with active shooter and mass casualty events. - And time! Time to make informed decisions and time to save lives. What are some more takaways? Place them in the comments and let's have the much needed conversations that are necessary concerning this topic. Let's be informed! Let's care! Let's protect! Shooter Detection Systems Alarm.com

Jean-Francky Guerrier, SJ, and lay partner Scott McMaster uncover the surprising power of vulnerability. Through storytelling and reflections inspired by the Nativity story and Fr. Jean-Francky’s personal experiences in Haiti, they explore how acknowledging our limits can deepen our connection with God and others. What might you discover by embracing your vulnerability? We know how important it is to build evidence around MHPSS activities, so that we can be sure we're helping (rather than harming) and so that we can clearly demonstrate the value of MHPSS. We also know how challenging people working in difficult environments find it to do this. I worked with the IFRC Psychosocial Centre to understand the factors that hinder and facilitate National Societies in building MHPSS evidence, and together we created a toolkit to support people in getting started with this process. Interestingly, people were less in need of technical support than resources to help them advocate internally for time and resources to enable better evidence building; guidance around building partnerships with research experts, such as universities; and concrete ways of communicating MHPSS evidence to busy practitioners who just want to know what this evidence means for them. All these resources are in our MHPSS Evidence-Building Toolkit! You can hear more about the project and the outcomes in this podcast. #mhpss #evidence #evaluation #ifrc #advocacy #research #humanitarian
