Resolved: The Clause Out team has what it takes to bring our innovative platform to market. We are 🌟🌟 from many different stripes—as I like to say about the core team we’ve assembled. Still, we’ve found it useful to maintain an “open door” policy for helping hands who can help us grow faster and in the right direction. The more claws (within reason), the better off we are! Over time I’ll explain a bit more what I mean by this outlook on talent. - How have we opened the startup’s🚪 to part-time hires and other types of contributors? - Who has helped us define and reach our goals? - What initial lessons have we taken away from this fairly unconventional approach to hiring? Happy Friday 🥳 Isn’t hiring new talent just the best in #seniorliving 🥲 Finding new talent is tough right now for senior living and a lot of times we can feel the pinch of just needing a warm body to plug holes that our high performers can cover up. 😬 But that is falling into the classic trap of kicking the can down the road and hoping it won’t bit you in the butt later 😅 Instead we all need to work together to solve this labor challenge we’re facing and it starts at the community level 🧐 Hiring should not fall solely on the ED and business office to find new talent for clinical, maintenance, engagement, or even sales. 🤔 It’s the entire teams responsibility(per their employment agreement) to drive the success of the community and it doesn’t stop at hiring 🙃 Sales can market open positions during their outreach in the medical centers 🏥 Engagement can communicate with volunteers who may need extra paid hours 🙋 Maintenance can communicate with your vendors to see if they have a referral 🛠️ The one thing we can’t do is continue to do the same thing an expect anything other than what we’re getting 😞 Oh and honesty about what kind of employee you’re referring but that’s another post for another day 😅 If we all work together we can build better teams and work through these challenges eficently 😊 Week 1 of Q2 is down and there’s so much potential out there to take 😇 Happy Selling 😄 #staffing #leadership #buildtheteam

Hiring for the future is bull****. It's the worst advice I received when trying to run a scale-up. I'm sorry, but it is. I've made that mistake - I know a lot of other CEOs have too. You shouldn't hire someone because their core skills would translate well when something happens in 12-18 months. Because that means for the next year you aren't getting what your team needs. Hire who you need right NOW. > Do they have the right attitude? > What skills are they bringing to the team that you don't have today? > Where do you think they fit on the Trust vs Performance scale? Be honest with yourself about what you need NOW. Because if you aren't getting what you need now, I'm almost certain you'll be re-hiring for that role in less than 12 months.
