Tension is high among retailers in the UK after the tough times they faced in the last quarter. "Sales volumes are estimated to have dropped 3.2%, the biggest monthly decline since January 2021." This decline has forced the economy into recession. The reduction in sales volume results from customers' unwillingness to spend due to the increasing cost of living. Consumers are finding themselves wanting to save, which is why sales in November increased because the black November discounts allowed them to save more.
