The recent town halls with Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on Univision generated 100 million impressions on digital platforms within a few days, as our CEO Daniel Alegre highlighted in the earnings call this week. This is an astounding number in an extremely cluttered political ecosystem and reflects the tremendous interest the Hispanic population has in the upcoming presidential elections—a community playing a decisive role in choosing the next US president. ➡️ 73% of viewers said that they became more likely to vote after watching the Harris town hall, while 64% said the same after watching Trump's town hall, according to TelevisaUnivision's polling results. 🎯 Some insights from the digital content strategy: 🎯 1️⃣ Multiplatform streams: The audience wants to connect and share. Allowing them to experience our content simultaneously and have their own discussions live on their preferred platforms and devices elevates premium content into a tentpole event. We have seen this already with our entertainment award shows, and it has proven to be as effective for political properties. 2️⃣ Connected TV (CTV): People love their TVs and the experience of watching content on big screens in their living rooms. Those who say TV is dying are wrong; the way people watch TV is evolving. Our successful streaming platform ViX is a fantastic example of that. We recently released the 24/7 Noticias Univision channel on ViX to YouTube. The performance has been great, and consumption is growing exponentially. What better way to serve and inform our audience in a high-stakes moment like the one we live in today, grow our digital footprint, and open a window to our premium content than by bringing the best of our news content to the platform that accounts for the largest TV viewership in the US? 3️⃣ Bilingual content: As our audience grows more diverse and our content more global, we have seen an opportunity to expand our reach by making it easier to enjoy our content offering for those whose first language is not Spanish. The latest AI technologies are making it possible to implement multilanguage experiences in our digital productions at scale, relatively fast, and without incurring significant costs. This is still a work in progress, and the tech is not perfect yet, but both town halls have Spanish and English versions, not only for the broadcast but also for the clips and the metadata. Kudos to all who made those town halls possible and to my team for their dedication and laser-focus mentality. You are the best! Jose Gonzalo Esther Poveda Carolina Astuya Alfredo Ochoa

📊 Just came across a fascinating study that surveyed 3,000 people, and the findings are eye-opening! 🧐 It reveals that a whopping 76% of those who use station websites and apps also tune into local TV news. This highlights the complementary role these platforms play in shaping our media diets. 📰 In an age where we often hear about the decline of traditional media, it’s refreshing to see that viewers are not choosing one over the other. Instead, they are embracing a hybrid approach—consuming content from both local TV and digital platforms. As other previous studies have shown, it’s not about “either/or,” but rather “and.” 🌐 This synergy between digital and traditional media presents exciting opportunities for broadcasters and content creators alike. By understanding how audiences engage with multiple platforms, we can enhance our strategies to deliver news that resonates with our community. 📈 So, let’s celebrate this trend! It’s a reminder that diverse media consumption is here to stay, and we should continue to innovate in how we deliver news across all channels. #MediaConsumption #LocalNews #DigitalStrategy #Broadcasting #MediaTrends You can find the article here: https://lnkd.in/gXE6qEXR

Nielsen is introducing a new magic trick (three minutes = a full QH of listening) to inflate radio station's quarter-hours. It's welcome news for AQH-starved broadcasters, who will undoubtedly announce to the media-buying world that "we are so back." Never mind the ratings behemoth is applying a band aid to a broken leg (Hey, how about fixing the sample size problem?). Still, this has profound implications for programmers beyond clock manipulation and moving commercial break. . Here are three things you should consider putting in place now! #radio, #radioprogramming, #radioratings, #broadcasting https://lnkd.in/gMpczejY

Linear program schedules common to over-the-air broadcast stations are not in alignment with new media consumption habits. Today's consumer is in control, not the media provider. https://lnkd.in/epkgMYxH

Comcast has partnered with Se Habla Media to support and expand its 'Jaime Mendez News' Spanish-language newscast, serving the over 60,000 Hispanic community members in Seattle. The partnership includes a grant for operations and technology, along with a regular spot on Comcast's Xfinity TV Channel 79 to air broadcasts. 'When Sinclair Broadcasting group let go of its Univision affiliate at the end of 2023, the only local Spanish newscast on TV in our area also disappeared,' said Diana Oliveros, co-founder of Se Habla Media. 'This sudden lack of a newscast posed yet another barrier to important information for many Hispanics. So, we decided to create our own local media outlet.' 'Our collaboration with Jaime and Diana aligns seamlessly with Comcast's mission to support our communities, advance digital equity, and help small businesses succeed,' said Rodrigo Lopez, Senior Vice President of Comcast Pacific Northwest Region. 'By supporting Se Habla Media, a news outlet created by Latinos for Latinos, we are helping to keep our Spanish-language community informed about local events and raise awareness of important local issues.' Before the partnership, Jaime Mendez News was limited to online broadcasts, amassing over 120,000 followers. The TV cable channel and Comcast's support will help expand its reach, catering to those without internet access who rely on TV for information. @comcast @sehablaseattle #spanishlanguagenews #digitalnews #hispanicmedia #comcastpartnership #jaimemendeznews

"Digital First" has been an anthem for more than a decade but I've never read anything as clear about the Why and the How than in Dustin Block's column today on TVNewsCheck. #media #digital #news https://lnkd.in/erGddaCb So, what’s the path forward for broadcast leaders grappling with digital strategy? First, we need to shift our mindset. Instead of seeing digital as an add-on to our broadcast operations, we should be thinking digital-first.
