Ever wondered what it takes to create a brand that people remember and love? Recently, the Come Together community hosted a fascinating talk with brand expert Laurent Grass, enthusiastically attended by Kehsia. Here are some key takeaways from the event: Use What You Have Don’t overcomplicate things by constantly seeking new tools and resources for your brand. Instead, make the most of what you already have. As Laurent emphasized, “Use the tools you already have.” This approach keeps your brand authentic and consistent. Trust is Crucial In today’s crowded marketplace, trust is a key differentiator. People gravitate towards brands they know and trust. Building a trusting relationship with your customers is essential for brand success. Be Consistent Consistency in communication is vital. Ensure your message is clear and uniform across all channels at all times. This helps people recognize and remember your brand more easily.💡✨ #BrandBuilding #Trust #Consistency #UseWhatYouHave #ComeTogetherCommunity

"Grounding your nation brand in your values is not simply effective, it is essential", said @Maria Lypiatska, the head of Brand Ukraine and the first ever winner of City Nation Place Place Leaderhip award. This summed up the first conference day that focused on place values, including a dedicated panel with Christian Biller, Neil Frauenglass, Nouf Mohamed Al-Bushlaibi and Sithembile Ntombela maNdaba. It opened with Lord Kim Darroch’s statement that ‘Values are a central part in how you present yourself; it cannot be transactional’. Happy as I am to see values at the forefront of place branding, there is still a way to go in understanding how to define and apply them. Mark Mobbs' provocative question on ‘values can be too general and hard to differentiate’ pointed to the obvious problem: we do not look deep enough; we should not just survey for what’s important but rather look at how people live and act in each place: there is a world of differentiation there. I was rather astounded by the question to the tune of ‘when your values contradict the interests of your lucrative audiences, when do you pivot?’ – it gathered quite a few endorsements. I firmly believe you do not pivot, you find lucrative audiences who support and share your values. Unless hypocrisy is your value that is. Looking forward to Day 2.

My go-to indicator to know if you’re building a cult-like brand is to host an event without promoting it much and see how many people turn out.

Having speakers at your event creates brand validation With so many events happening these days, it can be hard for consumers to gauge what events are legit or not When you have speakers associate themselves with your event, they also associate their brand with your brand This adds legitimacy to your event from a consumer perspective... ...this can be a great strategy to use if you don't have any footage or testimonials from previous events
