It is by transfer of ideas from one ecosystem to another that breakthrough innovation happens - innovation often happens at the fringes and boundaries when different industry domains collide. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 - for example, If you saw the movie Jaws, the producers (Dan O'Bannon and team) brianstormed how about rewriting the script of jaws in space? and the movie Alien was born. In our work, we discover what people love and help make their lives meaningful until the end. Now, more than ever, we’re writing a story of collaboration, knowing we need others to join us — people whose values of equity, justice, and accessibility align with ours. We’ve noticed a growing trend of awards for local government and community service projects—often for work they’re already funded to do or for the recognition they seek. I wonder if we're focusing too much on accolades to influence funders instead of on meaningful, long-term outcomes for our community.
