A few grams of drugs can cause serious accidents. Our concern remains as we continue to find drugs for personal use on the ships we inspect. As I have said before, all of this creates a greater concern for maritime security that goes beyond the seizures of attempted international trafficking that we are used to dealing with. Fortunately, our dogs are experts at detecting even the smallest quantities of drugs that an individual may be carrying, and have been very successful in locating these narcotics on crew or in specific locations. Detecting these psychoactive substances is a way of increasing the safety of your operations, cargo and vessels by reducing the risk of accidents resulting from the use of these substances and their side effects. ⚠ ATENTION!⚠ Updating the destinations of vessels used in international trafficking attempts Recent cases of seizures in attempted international cocaine trafficking indicate that new routes are being sought for these criminal activities. According to a report by the newspaper Estadão in July/2024, ships leaving the port of Santos for Russia and Israel will also require special attention from now on. This is because, according to the Federal Police, there is a greater diversification in alternative routes for international trafficking. It is well known that the tendency of organized crime is to always vary the route, the way of acting, the place of hiding the drugs and the time of shipment in order to accomplish its mission. Therefore, in this scenario, canine inspections are irreplaceable and increasingly urgent for the safety of the shipowners' voyages. Pay attention to your client's shipping routes. The least sought-after destination could be the new hotbed of opportunity for organized crime. Contact DBK9 and ensure this extra layer of security in your operations! #MaritimeSecurity #K9Inspections #SecureShipping #ISPSCodeCompliant #Canineinspection #policiafederal

🤝 Trust is our safeword. The difficulty of stopping criminal actions at ports begins with the low investment that still recurs in some regions in prevention actions, such as inspections with sniffer dogs. Groups that organize international drug trafficking have often paid bribes to port workers to help circumvent detection systems or security protocols. I’ve seen it happen many times. Therefore, our port security actions also include the participation of sniffer dogs in inspections of vehicles, bags and backpacks of port workers during shift change processes. These animals are trained to provide rapid detection and intimidate potential accomplices in these crimes by identifying the odor of narcotics or ammunition on clothing, luggage, or other methods of concealing illegal substances. #K9Detection #PortSecurity #SnifferDogs #CanineOperations #VesselProtection

New routes or international trafficking are being taken. Are you ready to protect your company? Ships departing from the Port of Santos for destinations like Russia and Israel will now require increased scrutiny. The Federal Police have identified a growing diversification in alternative routes used for international drug trafficking, signaling a shift in organized crime tactics. Organized crime is known for constantly changing its methods, varying routes, hiding places, and shipment times to evade detection. In this context, maritime inspections, are essential and increasingly urgent for ensuring the safety of shipping operations. By detecting hidden narcotics before they leave the port, inspections help prevent these illicit substances from reaching global markets, thereby protecting both the shipping industry and broader international security. It's important to closely monitor your client’s shipping routes. Even seemingly low-risk destinations could become new focal points for organized crime activities, making comprehensive inspections a vital line of defense. Contact us!

According to a recent segment by ITVnews, an average of 170 agricultural vehicles are stolen every month! Our rural communities are facing a growing crisis as organised crime gangs continue to steal tractors, GPS devices, and other vital farm equipment. Watch this interview featuring the Chair of the NRCN, Tim Passmore, to learn about how these stolen goods are making their way out of the country, leaving our farmers without the tools they need to make a living. As highlighted by Tim, criminals are increasingly targeting this equipment due to the high prices they can fetch on the black market. This calls for a stronger police presence in rural areas to deter criminals and improve response times. Additionally, farmers need access to more effective security measures, such as GPS tracking, forensic marking for equipment, and improved fencing.
