Since the No Surprises Act's inception, only 15% of health plans have prevailed in IDR disputes, highlighting why many insurers feel the process doesn't benefit them. However, IDR, when executed correctly, provides a fair platform for both payers and providers, and recent changes to batching policies have made it more accessible. FHAS, with over 225,000 disputes closed, is committed to a transparent IDR process, helping organizations streamline claims resolution. 💼💡 MS has finalized policies to promote competition in Medicare Advantage and Part D plans, boost access to behavioral healthcare services, and reduce deceptive marketing practices. The Contract Year (CY) 2025 Medicare Advantage and Part D final rule included guardrails about plan compensation to agents and brokers who help beneficiaries navigate coverage options. Excessive compensation from plans may result in beneficiaries being steered to certain Medicare Advantage or Part D plans based on financial incentives instead of beneficiary health needs. #Medicare #MedicareAdvantage #Healthcare #Insurance #HealthInsurance #MedicareCoverage #HealthPolicy #HealthcareIndustry #MedicareFinalRule #HealthcareReform #HealthcarePolicy #HealthcareManagement #HealthcareNews #MedicareChanges #HealthcareUpdates #MedicarePlan

INSURANCE : IN NEED & READY FOR DISRUPTION ——————————————————————————- We often associate ‘financial exclusion’ with lack of access to banking & credit facilities. However, lack of access to insurance is a significant (larger ?) gap. Insurance underwriting models haven’t evolved much in over a century and are dominated by a handful of reinsurers. A reinsurer sitting thousands of miles away is determining the insurability & insurance premium….. • Top 5 = 43% of total premium ($ 174 bn) - Munich Re, Swiss Re, Hannover Re, Canada Life Re & Berkshire Hathaway • Top 10 = 64% ($ 255bn) • Top 20 = 80% Reinsurance market concentration : Top 10 Reinsurers : 1980 = 22% 2022 = 64% This sector is ripe for disruption with #AI - making insurance accessible & affordable to ALL. #FinancialInclusion #insurance #AI #ResponsibleAI #AIforGood #reinsurance

Depending on their choice of insurance provider, individuals who purchase an Integrated Shield Plan (IP) for private hospital treatment can end up paying a staggering difference of more than $85,000 over their lifetimes. This substantial disparity underscores the importance of careful consideration when selecting an IP provider. IP is an optional health coverage provided by private insurance companies, typically for stays in A or B1-type wards in public or private hospitals. Recent data published by MOH shows significant premium variations even among plans categorised under the same ward class, as both coverage and pricing are determined by the insurer. Hear from Assoc Prof Hwee-Lin Wee and Asst Prof Cynthia Chen as they discuss how individuals can evaluate their options, in consideration of long-term healthcare expenses, when choosing insurers.
