Believe me... 💡 This course has been more challenging than many others that required programming and coding skills! The reason is simple: it has impacted some of my conditions regarding the ways in which it's appropriate to evaluate and make strategic decisions, and I would add... strategically. Some of the keywords are: ✔️ Authority bias: The tendency to attribute greater importance to the opinions of those in power; ✔️ Cascade effect: The propensity of a group to reach varying conclusions based on who speaks first; ✔️ Noise: Unwanted variability in decisions due to unpredictable and invisible factors; ✔️ Perspective Diversity: The varied ways in which we perceive things; ✔️ Viewpoint diversity: The different positions from which we observe. Noise and BIAS are concepts we are daily discussing for the #AI-related domains but do you know theybare really challenging in the decision-making process? For example, differing answers can be a sign of noise, but consistent answers might signal noise or bias. I know what you're thinking: how can we distinguish bias or noise from accurate evaluation in such scenarios ⁉️ You have some strategies: ✔️ Share judgments anonymously can prevent cascade bias (that's really important); ✔️ Different answers where you don't want different answers is a clear signal of noise especially during the decision making process; ✔️ Evaluate the support of a Decision Observer; ✔️ Be opened for the discussion BUT at the right time: after an initial anonymous vote and review of the debiading checklist; ✔️ Fill an assessment buckets with considering the questions can be useful to identify what really matters. There are some additional concepts, and surely my learning path will take a branch to follow this interesting course. 😊 I hope these tips will be useful for you as well.
