Hot take - Scope Creep Can be GOOD‼️ 💡 “Good project management is not just about following the plan—it’s about knowing when to pivot to create better outcomes.” 💡 Recently, I’ve been managing a +4,000 sq. ft. cafeteria expansion project. While reviewing the design drawings, I noticed an opportunity that could significantly improve the flow and efficiency of the space—something the original plans didn’t fully capture. After a thorough evaluation and team discussions, I proposed: ✅ Optimizing the layout to enhance foot traffic flow - added more entrance and exit points ✅ Adding a second milk and coffee station to reduce bottlenecks and minimize wait times for users. These changes weren’t part of the original scope, but they addressed real pain points that could have impacted the user experience. The result? A design that isn’t just bigger, but smarter and more user-friendly. As project managers, our value lies not just in delivering on time and within budget but in constantly asking: • “How can we make this better?” • “What haven’t we considered?” • “Are we designing with the end-user in mind?” This project reminded me that being adaptable and proactive can turn a great project into an exceptional one. To my fellow PMs: how have you turned “scope creep” into a game-changer? I’d love to hear your stories! #ProjectManagement #Leadership #Construction #Teamwork #ContinuousImprovement #strategicleader

The worst thing you can do in retail construction project management is treat everyone and everything the same. If you are managing without considering the unique needs and goals of each project, brand, person, or team — Stop. A good manager adjusts their approach to fit specific needs. People are motivated differently. Brands have different objectives. Don't enforce a one-size-fits-all management style. Instead, find a balance that gets the best results. Outstanding management means adapting and responding to the needs of the project and the company. #AdaptiveLeadership #PersonalizedManagement #TailoredApproach —————— I help GCs and architects create beautiful commercial spaces without all the stress. Imagine the classic weekend burger craving! You have options, but each comes with a trade-off: - Great and Fast, but Not Cheap: You order a delicious burger, it’s delivered in 20 minutes, but the price isn’t low. - Great and Affordable, but Not Fast: You find a fantastic burger at a good price, but there’s a longer wait. - Fast and Cheap, but Not Great: You grab a quick, budget-friendly burger, but the quality isn’t top-notch (no judgment here!). Or, make it yourself. It will be fun, but the triangle still applies! Quality, time, and cost: you can choose only two. In project management, the Quality-Price-Time triangle is a powerful tool for setting expectations. It emphasizes that you can optimize for only two out of three: quality, speed, or cost. I often remind clients and colleagues: “We can work great and fast, but it won’t be cheap; great and affordable, but it won’t be fast; or fast and affordable, but it won’t be great.” This model initiates transparent conversations about priorities and aligns solutions with strategic goals. By clarifying these trade-offs upfront, teams and stakeholders make informed decisions that drive realistic, successful project outcomes. #ProjectManagement #DigitalTransformation #qualitypricetimetriangle #prototyping https://lnkd.in/dkNzhWHb

🚀 Project Management: 3 Key Tips for Successful New Store Tech Installs in Restaurants 🍽️ As a project manager overseeing restaurant tech installations, I’ve learned that a well-executed install can significantly elevate operational efficiency and customer experience. From new POS systems to integrated kitchen technologies, these projects demand strategic planning and precise execution. Here are 3 essential tips I’ve implemented to ensure success: 1️⃣ Thorough Pre-Planning: Every project begins with a detailed roadmap. It’s crucial to outline every phase, identify potential risks, and coordinate closely with vendors and internal teams to prevent surprises down the line. 2️⃣ Transparent Communication: Keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process is non-negotiable. Regular check-ins, progress updates, and addressing concerns early help avoid last-minute challenges and ensure everyone is on the same page. 3️⃣ Maintaining a Secure Folder: After the installation, I always create a secure, organized folder containing pictures of the install, equipment serial numbers, and other critical information. This documentation is invaluable for future troubleshooting, warranty claims, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring the team has easy access to everything they need. With the right approach and strong leadership, complex tech rollouts can be transformed into smooth, value-adding initiatives for the business. #ProjectManagement #TechInstalls #RestaurantInnovation #Leadership #Efficiency

Has 2025 snuck up on you? “Well sort the packaging by the end of Q4.” 👀 There’s a lot of steps, isn’t there? In a lot of cases, you’ll need material suppliers, designers, consultants, someone to print and form the packs, and another company to pack them. And they’re all in different locations, on different time lines (maybe even time-zones) and you can’t move from one stage to the next without all of them going smoothly. What if they were all under one roof? That would be pretty smart, wouldn’t it? 🙋♂️ At Alexir, we established our start to finish turnkey solution so that brands could get their packaging sorted with minimal fuss. A frictionless, well-considered system that our clients love. Everything you need for the perfect packaging, all with one touchpoint. 🙏 No crazy chasing up, no co-ordinating or project management - we sort it all. DM me if product packaging is on your to-do list. 👋
