🚀 Apple WWDC 2024 Today - Exciting Times at Earkick! 🚀 I’m excited to share one of our most anticipated annual traditions – our dedicated WWDC Innovation Week! Since 2019, we have established this tradition of taking the entire week of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) off from our regular tasks to focus exclusively on exploration, innovation, and forward-thinking. What We Do During WWDC Week? 1. Dive into New Technologies: Our iOS developers including myself immerse themselves in the latest features and tools announced by Apple, experimenting hands-on with new APIs and frameworks to understand their potential and fit within our product. 2. Cross-Team Collaboration: While not everyone on our team is a developer, every member brings unique insights and ideas. We hold brainstorming sessions to explore how new technologies can enhance our product and improve the user experience. 3. Creative Prototyping: We organize mixed-team workshops where developers and non-developers collaborate to explore new features and concepts, turning innovative ideas into tangible plans. 4. Presentations and Strategic Planning: The week culminates in presentations where teams showcase their ideas and prototypes. We then discuss how these innovations align with our mission and create a roadmap for implementation. Why We Do It? - Foster Innovation: By dedicating a week to innovation, we encourage our team to think outside the box and stay ahead of industry trends. - Strengthen Team Dynamics: This week-long event promotes collaboration and creativity, bringing together diverse perspectives to solve complex problems. - Stay Ahead of the Curve: Integrating the latest technological advancements ensures that our AI mental health support app remains at the forefront of the industry. Since starting this tradition in 2019, we’ve seen tremendous success. This dedicated week has led to significant breakthroughs and strengthened our team’s cohesion and commitment to innovation. We call them Voices of Gen Z panels; always-on, curated Gen Z group chats built around the evolving needs of your brand(s). After our first pilot run last fall, we’ve been integrating them into select projects, making continuous improvements, and pushing the limits of their use cases. Over the last month or so, we started actively pitching them, and they are hot. 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 Forbes ran a nice little piece on our latest Gen Z in the Workplace report, talking about the 6 things Gen Z want from their employers, and we had a few more May press call outs, with a podcast appearance on Marketing Moves, and Boston25 News mentioned our screen time data in relation to a growing trend of schools banning cell phones. 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧... - upcoming releases - special shoutout for a work anniversary - 4-day summer workweek - a new dcdx value - a big new hire, more to come soon ... Obviously, when we started out (the product was named Nerdio Manager for WVD back then) there was already some interest, though nothing compared to what’s going on today. During the pandemic things accelerated quickly, and soon after Nerdio became a household name in the wondrous world of EUC, tightly associated with WVD, AVD nowadays and W365. And not without reason! Things change quickly, and so do we.   The pace of innovation, the team and leadership, including our amazing board members, our partners and customers, as well as the technology itself adding tremendous business value to companies all over the world (including MSP’s) are all a testament to that. Sure, the pandemic helped our growth, as working remotely became the norm and Microsoft did an amazing job with Windows Virtual Desktop (and they still do) but it was bound to happen anyway.   Today, we are like a T. Swift concert, people are lining up in front of our booths almost everywhere we go, and we sell out quickly, so to speak (well, if we take events like NerdioCon, for example, it’s not even that far from the truth). We are a hot ticket. Our line-up is nothing short of amazing each and every time, our audience always comes first, and we are here to entertain (read: help you) all the way, from start to finish.   Luckily, our tour continues and there isn’t an end-date in sight, at all. EUC / Community events, Training Camps, Innovation Days, MicroHack events, Partner and Customer summits, NerdioCon, you name it, the agenda is stacked.   See you soon in an arena near you!

Sometimes, your day changes, and there's nothing you can do about it. I'd planned to get out on Giles (that's the horse) this morning, but that has had to wait! Because old farmhouse, thick walls and CCTV base station away from the house, my Wifi struggles with normal day to day use in the house. Therefore, I run a home network. It's been running successfully for many years, but this morning it was not. Usually with a hiccup, a simple restart of the main basestation will restart the whole thing, but this was not effective. I knew it wasn't the internet as a whole because the router was happy and if I connected to the wifi there, it was fine. It's taken me a few hours, but I've got it all working again. Chances are, I'm going to need to look at upgrading my system, as it's the second reasonably complicated hiccup in the space of about six months. The units are well in excess of 7 years old (potentially as much as 10...I had them from my father when they moved), which is pretty ancient in technology speak! Now, I LOVE technology and anything that can make my life easier. I'm not always keen to set it all up in the first place, because I don't always speak as much tech as I might need, so my version of the Script convinces me that I can't do it. But there's usually someone out there who has struggled with the same thing I am, and can explain it to me, I just have to find the right blog, YouTube explanation or forum! So it might take me some time, but I CAN do it.
