We had a request for an early prototype with many features. I won't go into details as it may reveal the customer. However it did show that there was a lack of focused development. Each prototype should answer a particular question to enable the project to progress. Prototypes for LabCars will never reveal dynamic issues but are ideal for network management, body electronics, and infotainment development. Prototypes fitted into cars should be when we need to move, for example chassis and abs. (Even then modelling can be used to do a lot of this!) We should always ask ourselves what exactly are we learning. What tests can we effectively carry out? Is there a better, easy, faster, cheaper or more complete way? I will do a few posts detailing the ideal things to test at each step shortly, but in the meantime... Remain focused everyone. #embed #automotive #mbdp
