Data evidence is growing more and more. The result remains the same: #AMR is a major unmet medical need and undermines medical advances of the past 100 years. This should also go out to the #longevity trend folks… there is no longevity without access to working antibiotics. Policy makers need to understand that the fight against #AMR is no luxury good that you might want to afford or not… it is like a fire fighter… if you don’t afford it you lose. Investors should reengage with the right products as answering an unmet medical need will deliver also investment success.

A new study led by IHME and published in The Lancet found that more than 1 million people died from AMR globally each year between 1990 and 2021 and estimated that nearly 40 million people around the world could die from antibiotic-resistant infections over the next 25 years. It is imperative that policymakers act on #AMR now, including taking steps to incentivize drug developers to pursue innovative, effective, and accessible antimicrobials now and into the future.
