According to Professor Henrik Petersen from the The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute at SDU, the answer is clear: We need to rethink robot safety and allow robots to work more closely with humans. The Chinese are not waiting for anyone," says Henrik Gordon Petersen, who leads the 'Agile Production Systems' initiative in MADE FAST project. If this is for real, then the most impressive thing about this robot is that it's fuel pump can dispense a full tank of gas in like two seconds. Everything else took way longer than an actual human. I could concur with the benefits of having machines take over the health-hazardous work of refueling vehicles. But there's no way this robot could possibly be anywhere close to cost effective in any meaningful timeframe, especially on a mass scale, compared to low wage human laborers. We would undoubtedly be well on our way to an electrified transportation world before that would be the case IMHO.
