When presented with a straightforward arithmetic problem containing irrelevant information, over 20 leading AI systems failed to provide the correct solution—a task easily managed by grade school students. This finding highlights that, despite their advanced capabilities, AI models still struggle with genuine logical reasoning at the foundational model level. However next generation AI based applications are improving the overall LLM experience.
