We have made a commitment! To use the Open Space Technology (OST) for facilitating organizational, invitation-based change and help businesses thrive by using the entrepreneurial potential of every worker. You know that our Jaroslava Ceplechová and Jaroslav Orsag have been running the Open Space for a long time as an un-conference platform. But we have always sensed it has a bigger potential than that. With some organizational experiments in our pocket as well as seeing the OST integrated into FAST Agile at the 2023 inAgile conference, we had decided to reach out to Daniel Mezick and his colleagues Andrea Darabos and Alexander Krause at the end of 2023 to learn more about a validated, highly successful approach to agile transformations and organizational change called Open Space Agility (OSA). And here we are, celebrating our first OSA learnings and achievements. Yesterday at our internal OSA festival with Andrea, Alex, Jaro and Rastislav Duriš. And making a commitment to pioneer the OSA in our countries. Mind you: It is not about OSA. It is about bringing engagement back to organizations. By working with the willing. Often, the spotlight shines brightest on those who claim the top prize. However, sometimes, it’s the underdog who truly captures our attention. I don't even know the name of the gold winner. Such is the case of Yusuf Dikec, the one-handed Turkish shooting sensation who defied expectations at the Paris Olympics. His cool stance has even spurred theories that he is actually an assassin. Dikec's unconventional approach - shooting with one hand in his pocket and eschewing fancy gear - is a stark contrast to the typical image of an elite athlete. Yet, his silver medal win is a testament to the power of focus, adaptability, and experience. These qualities mirror the essence of agile teams. Like Dikec, agile teams thrive on clear objectives, incremental delivery, and the ability to pivot in response to changing circumstances. They value experience and maintain a steady focus on delivering value, even amidst challenges. Dikec’s story inspires us to:  Embrace agility: Be open to experimentation and new approaches.  Leverage experience: Tap into the wisdom of your team members.  Stay focused: Maintain a clear vision and unwavering determination. To me it feels that the hype around #agile organizations has slightly settled.. good! 👍🏼 After the hype comes the adoption. While some still perceive it as a buzz word, others focus on real use cases and how to create value in their organizations with it. Agility is not THE solution to an organization’s challenges, but an instrument to get there (among other instruments 🔨 ). We often underestimate the strengths that we have in-house. Our first reflex is to gather inspiration from other contexts. It’s very valuable to put things into perspective but it sometimes doesn’t fully transpose into a specific situation : company specificities, history and sometimes political reasons are a thing and we often need to adapt or even downscale a solution due to these specific elements. 🫠 This is the good thing about company internal sessions : we all share the same context, the same history and understand (most of) the same acronyms. In other terms : we speak the same language. 🔤 What I didn’t foresee from this Elia Group’s Agile Chapter is the quality of the sessions. Felt truly inspired by what I’ve seen until now, with an even stronger to the topics and discussion moments, due to the reasons mentioned above. Thrilled to be a part of this journey with #eliagroupagilechapter 🔥
