Recruiting diverse participants for clinical trials helps ensure the reliability of data. Yet there is no agreed-upon standard for the evidence required to develop digital health technologies (DHTs). Join PLAC's Bridging Health Inequities Webinar with Exponent’s Marta Villarraga, Ph.D., RAC, and Nathalie Horowicz-Mehler, PhD, together with Blake E. Wilson, Esq., of Hogan Lovells as they present, “Bridging Health Inequities with Digital Health Technologies.” This talk will cover four questions for life sciences firms to consider when evaluating the use of DHTs in clinical trials. The World Health Organization released guidance to improve the design, conduct and oversight of clinical trials. The document aims to reinforce global standards in the organization, design, conduct, analysis and reporting of clinical trials. The team at Expecto Health Science has gone through the guidance and noted that key recommendations focus on improving trial design to ensure the relevance of research; an emphasis on scientific and ethical standards; strengthening of capacity and support for sustainable research infrastructure; enhancing clinical trial transparency; and reforms to enable underrepresented groups to participate in clinical trials. Check out our slide on recommendations for 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵. It addresses challenges such as poor trial design, limited diversity of participants, insufficient infrastructure and bureaucratic efficiencies, which cost time, money and lives.
