Q: Do tests and inspections need to be done on the exact same date every time? A: No! According to NFPA 25, it’s impractical to require inspections or tests to occur on the exact same date. The focus is on maintaining the correct frequency to keep your system reliable and compliant. 📅 Quick Guide to NFPA 25 Frequencies: • Monthly: Once per calendar month • Quarterly: Every 2–4 months • Semiannual: Every 4–8 months • Annual: Every 9–15 months • 3 Years: Every 30–40 months • 5 Years: Every 54–66 months Why it matters: Regular Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) ensures your fire protection system works when you need it most. Staying within the allowed frequency ranges ensures both safety and compliance! #FireSafety #SprinklerTesting #FAQFridays #NFPA25 #ITM

Competence requirements for fire risk assessors were first developed following – and as a result of – the Lakanal House fire in 2009. However, they remained recommendations only and whilst reputable organisations offering fire risk assessment services and training alongside operators of third-party certification schemes responded to adopt and integrate, it is clear that without being mandated the wider industry has chosen to ignore them, hence the need for robust measures to ensure the competency of assessors. As part of our Policy Manifesto, the FPA calls on government to ensure all fire risk assessors are appropriately qualified and certified under a suitable, UKAS accredited scheme, as well as supported with their ongoing professional development to maintain competence. As Low As Reasonably Practicable.💥💯👌 As low as reasonably practicable, or ALARP is a term often used in the regulation and management of safety-critical and safety-involved systems. The ALARP principle is that the residual risk shall be reduced as far as reasonably practicable. #Safety #ALARP #HSEProfessionals #HealthAndSafety

Awesome to see the The Fire Protection Association driving the case for #Competency standards for #FireRiskAssessors We really should be proactive and not just wait for Government Mandates on matters like this. At Bellrock Group our Oakleaf Surveying Ltd #FRA specialists are ALL on the The Institute of Fire Safety Managers - IFSM Tiered Register. That means that ALL our #FireRiskAssessments are conducted by experienced men and women who are either a Tier 2 or Tier 3 on a Nationally Accredited FRA Register. This was our Q2 non-negotiable. It costs us more. It was extra work. But, we have an agreed benchmark. No compromises. Along with our BAFE SP205 accreditation we can provide robust reassurance to clients as we work with them to define proportional FRA programmes- and in so doing actually SAVE them money too. Hopefully, in time, Clients will realise this should be a question they should also be asking and interrogating when contracting out FRAs, so they too can demonstrate 'competency' assurance under article 18 of the Fire Safety Order. At Oakleaf we do things differently. What price safety? #blockmanagement

We've noticed several discussions arising around the purpose and significance of Field of Application Reports (FoA) in the context of fire safety regulations, particularly in relation to digital management systems. The key question we have come across is whether digital management systems only acknowledge certifications and, if this is the case, where do Field of Application Reports stand if not considered certificates? Andy Davies discusses the topic in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/guuX6wBB Do you have thoughts on this matter? Why not discuss with Andy on the Halspan Stand (5/D150) at The Fire Safety Event (FSE) April 30 - May 2nd?
