Ten Things Great Leaders Should Do. Great Leaders Close Their Open Door Policy Open door policies are passive ways to facilitate communication and do more harm than good. They make deep work and strategic thinking virtually impossible for the manager. Worse, research shows that half of all employees won’t go through the open door with problems or ideas because they fear repercussions. It’s time to close your door and open your calendar. Recurring, weekly one-on-one meetings are a far better way to proactively facilitate communication, and pre-scheduled “office hours”—perhaps an hour each day—is the best way to facilitate time-sensitive communication. https://lnkd.in/eX2StxhX?

The primary tool in three minutes! Fabulous! It's just to watch, listen, and repeat watching and listening before and during solving any problem. An African proverb says: "The best way to eat an elephant in your path is to cut him into little pieces.” In Russian, it sounds like "A big thing can be seen from a distance.” Use your 'lens' and examine the problem from different perspectives and with inclusiveness. Remember to also look at it from the bottom and above. 😉 Simplifying the complexity of complicated connections and interconnections step by step.
