Research by Consumer Reports (via Inc. Magazine) shows there's a 4% increase in foot traffic and 5% increase in revenue when retailers roll out EV charging at their locations. Approximately 89% of people who show up to charge will make a purchase while there. For EV drivers, the benefits of having access to charging while shopping are obvious, but it's nice to see some numbers to demonstrate the benefits for retailers as well. And between the increase in revenue and the many state and federal incentive programs out there to drive down the cost of chargers, there's really no reason for retailers to be on the fence about getting chargers installed. Retail folks, click through for the article, and check out the link in the comments to learn more about incentive programs we can help you apply for when you're ready to jump in. #retail #electricvehicles #evcharging

The lack of sufficient charging infrastructure is a well-known obstacle hindering the wider adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Despite the growing interest in EVs, the scarcity of charging options can deter potential buyers. A recent study by Consumer Reports suggests that retail locations could play a pivotal role in expanding charging infrastructure quickly.

We all know public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is lacking. But this stat has shocked us... According to research from Zapmap and RAC, only 13% of supermarkets across the UK offer EV charging. And that’s after a 59% rise in the number of EV chargers installed at UK supermarkets between 2022 and 2023! Whilst we‘re glad to see EV charger stats rising, we think a lot more charging points are needed to cater to EV drivers’ needs — and support the country’s transition away from petrol and diesel cars. What do you think? Read the article below to find out more. And remember: if you’re looking to embark on an EV charger project of your own, we can assist. Just say the word. 🚗🔌 #ElectricVehicles #EVCharging #ChargingInfrastructure https://bit.ly/3TzyIkU

A recent study by Consumer Reports highlights a significant trend: Retailers experiencing a 4% surge in foot traffic and a 5% boost in revenue as consumers charge their Electric Vehicles and shop or run errands. Surprisingly, 89% of EV drivers make purchases while their EVs are charging. This presents a golden opportunity for small businesses to capitalize by installing charging stations in their parking lots. By doing so, they not only cater to a growing customer need but also stand to make a profitable income stream from the service. #smallbusiness #retailers #evinfrastructure https://evbolt.com/# https://lnkd.in/dtKak2aT

EV charging is becoming a benefit to retailers, also boosting EV infrastructure in the process. This is not dissimilar to the symbiotic role of gasoline vehicle infrastructure and convenience stores and related retail. Even big box (Costco, Sam's, etc.) and grocery (Kroger, etc.) got in on the service station business, so it only makes sense that EV would follow a similar pattern. https://lnkd.in/g-Tfs3KF

Great looking charging bays, not all fully #PAS1899 compliant, but all with a minimum space of 1200mm to the sides of the bays (certainly at Yate, I haven't checked the others, but Be.EV are usually good at this). This is great for everybody. -People who don't want their expensive cars dinged. -People with children in car seats who need to open doors fully -People who are wheelchair users or who have mobility impairments With an ageing population and many disabled people returning EVs to Motability Operations Ltd due to the discriminatory infrastructure, this is just future proofing the charging experience for all. Well done to everyone involved 👏👏👏 The site would still benefit from cheaper destination chargers and these could be installed in many bays, including the accessible bays nearer the stores.
