Strengthening Europe’s cyber defenses, one collaboration at a time 🤝 This week, we had the pleasure of hosting members of the FACT - Federated Advanced Cyber physical Test range consortium in Søborg, Denmark. It was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when industry leaders come together with a shared vision for resilience and innovation. ✅ Together, we're tackling some of the toughest challenges in cybersecurity and operational technology across the European Union — Diving deep into federated architecture, knowledgebase, development, and demonstration plans — an essential roadmap for a safer, more connected future. These insightful conversations underscored the strength of partnership in advancing the goals of the European Defense Fund project. We’re thrilled to be part of a consortium that’s paving the way for robust Cyber Resilience Testing in the critical infrastructure that protects us all. 💪 "Many hands make light work." This proverb perfectly applies to managing cybersecurity threats. Our project managers, Dominykas Kugelevičius and Rasa Mončiunskaitė, are currently developing the Cyber Campus community concept. They conducted survey within the Lithuanian cybersecurity ecosystem and it revealed that nearly 90% of respondents believe in the need for stronger cooperation. Where can we draw the inspiration from? Here are some best practices highlighted by Dominykas and Rasa: ✅ The Cyber Commons Studio, created by Campus Cyber in France. This model fosters innovation by identifying future market trends, analysing complex problems, and conducting research projects. ✅ Cyber7- Israel’s Cyber Innovation Community. This initiative promotes collaboration between public and private sectors, with strong political support being a key factor in its success. ✅ Cybercampus Sverige | Sweden. With the motto that united experts can achieve more than individual organizations, this community exemplifies the power of collective effort. Interested? I wanted to share a bit of a journey with you—a little over a year ago, while I was working at the University of Lancaster, I had the privilege of organizing the first-ever space cyber security conference at the DISH in Manchester, in partnership with Plexal. 🚀💻 It was a interesting and fun event, and I'll never forget the energy and enthusiasm from everyone who attended. And at the end of the event it became clear that there was a real hunger for more events focusing on this critical issue. So, here we are, just over a year later, and I am beyond excited to be counting down to my second conference on space cyber security, happening next week at the University of Strathclyde in partnership with International Space University! 🎉 One of the main takeaways from our event last year was the noticeable gap in communication between space professionals and cyber professionals. It's a real challenge—one that we're still grappling with today. But you know what? That's exactly why these conferences are so important. They provide a platform for us to come together, bridge those gaps, and try to find solutions. And let me tell you, we're not shying away from tackling these issue head-on at our upcoming conference. I'm genuinely thrilled to be a part of this conversation, and I can't wait to see where it takes us.
