Although it’s been a minute since Robert Martellacci M.A. EdTech and his MindShare Learning team pulled off a stellar Canadian EdTech Summit earlier this month in Toronto, I wanted to provide a reflective moment of gratitude and appreciation for this very distinct event. What differentiated this Summit? The blend of stakeholders from all corners of the K12, academic, and research communities. The thoughtful approach to cutting edge uses, policies, and practical applications of Generative AI. The merging of diverse perspectives and POVs from across North America--which we don't often get when attending US-based events. Additionally, the state-of-the-art venue cannot be overlooked: Held on the University of Toronto Scarborough campus, at the brand new Sam Ibrahim Active Learning Spaces Building, chock full of design innovations to provoke a more cohesive campus community—including the hectagon-configured conference center. It was cool to meet the building’s architecture team CEBRA, and learn how they prioritized and incorporating community-building into the design.
