How can one of the most fundamental articles of the Greek Civil Code, Article 904 on Unjust Enrichment, be transformed into a poem on Unjust Reality? With the same tone, the same rhythm, but a completely different meaning? Yes, it can be done! When an experienced and skilled lawyer takes up the pen of poetry, anything is possible. Panagiotis Perakis did it, and in a way that gave rise to a wonderful presentation at IANOS, full of heterogeneous, disparate people - all united by the power of art. Because art is a balm for all and, as we all know, unites us. PS: looking at some of the excellent photos by the awesome photographer Joanna Skiftou made me realize that I am surrounded by lawyers creating art: Literature, poetry, music, painting... Katerina Papandoniou, Panagiotis Rizos, Giannis Antoniadis, Marianthi Ntafouli and so many others. Maybe because our work brings us very close to life and life without art is unlivable. #law #art #lawyers_artists
It surely takes a remarkable person and lawyer to create poems out of lines of the law. I was honored to be invited to photograph in Panagiotis Perakis’ presentation of his collection of poems the Greek Civil Code, Article 904 on Unjust Enrichment.
