This year has been extremely busy for me! 😅 I have been involved in several learning activities, including my Echoing Green Fellowship and capacity building sessions with MIGHTY ALLY as a part of the Dovetail Impact Foundation’s Acceleration Portfolio. Additionally, I attended The New Africa Fund capacity building workshop in #Kigali as a #NAFgrantee, and the G-ANC Catalyzer conference in #Nairobi through Jhpiego. I have also taken part in other global conferences and convenings, and engaged in many learning opportunities with our current and potential partners 🌸 Furthermore, I have had feedback sessions with our Board of Trustees as well as advisory board, and sought advice from other visionaries, colleagues, leaders, and most importantly, the communities that we serve 🦻🏾 Through these experiences, I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge 💡However, I recognize that all of this learning is meaningless if it is not put it into action. As the visionary behind WAJAMAMA in #Zanzibar, I have decided to "slow down" and dedicate the next three weeks to digesting and incorporating the lessons I have learned, gain a greater clarity regarding WAJAMAMA's mission, vision, and strategic direction, and prepare for it’s future growth ✨ The learning curve has been steep, but I am excited for what the future holds. Before diving into this critical period of growth and transitions, it was essential for me to set myself up for success. That's why I decided to start my week by spending an entire day with Tayeb Noorbhai, a strategic consultant, visionary, entrepreneur, and friend, to gain clarity, establish our 5-year goals, and determine how we will achieve them. There is still much to be done, but I believe we are off to a great start! 🎉 #GrowthMindset #InspiredChangemakers #CollectiveImpact #GlobalInnovation #CreatingChangeTogether #CollectiveAction #TogetherWeAreStronger #LetsCollaborate #VisionariesUnited

Highly recommend this course for all professionals working in “development” to unlearn and relearn and shape a new development narrative with some of the great contemporary philosophers and thinkers of our time. Radically transformational. #ChangeTheStory
🌏 Reshaping International Development Through a Pasifika Lens At Tetra Tech International Development Services, we’re committed to integrating Pasifika philosophies into our culture and development projects. Recently, our senior leaders, including Managing Director, Amy Gildea and Regional Pacific Director, Rosanna Maualaivao MacDonald (She/Her), participated in the transformative Pasifika Philosophies “Whole of Life” Course at the Theological College in Suva, Fiji. This course, led by Reverend Professor Dr. Upolu Luma Vaai, reshapes conventional development thinking through a Pasifika lens, fostering a resilient, holistic development consciousness grounded in community-based models. Amy shared, “Learning these philosophies has been radically transformative. It’s about raising our consciousness and driving a more authentic approach to development, rooted in traditional Pasifika values.” Rosanna added, “The course was intense and validating. It highlighted the need for cultural competency and genuine commitment to work with Pasifika people as equals. Understanding and embracing Pasifika ‘whole of life’ philosophies is essential for life-changing transformation.” As we continue to lead humanitarian and development projects, these insights are invaluable. They enrich our organizational culture and ensure our projects are impactful and aligned with the cultural traditions and values of the local communities we serve. Reshaping International Development Through a Pasifika Lens. As we immersed ourselves in the relational philosophies, knowledges and epistemologies; and how this has shaped the development in the Pasifika communities, it was clear that there is a need for ongoing cultural competency and intelligence with a genuine commitment to work with the Pasifika people as equals. #PasifikaPhilosophies #InternationalDevelopment #TetraTech

As we are wrapping up Day 1 of our Board Strategy Session. We had the privilege of hearing from our dynamic CEO, Mrs. Hlengiwe Hakata. Her vision for Enterprise Ilembe is inspiring as we explore innovative ways to drive economic growth in our region. Under Mrs. Hakata’s leadership, we are currently focused on several impactful projects: 1.Small Business Support Initiatives: Aiming to empower local entrepreneurs with resources, training, and access to funding. 2.Sustainable Tourism Development: Promoting Ilembe as a prime tourist destination while preserving our rich cultural heritage. 3.Infrastructure Enhancement: Collaborating with stakeholders to improve essential services and facilities, fostering a conducive environment for business. 4.Skills Development Programs: Addressing the skills gap in our workforce through targeted training and partnerships with educational institutions. Mrs. Hakata’s commitment to collaboration and community engagement is crucial in driving these projects forward. We are excited about the positive impact these initiatives will have on our region’s growth and sustainability. #MovingForwardTogether #businessgrowth #LetsGrowTogether

Award-winning Work Psychologist & Wellness Founder of The Nomalanga Tribe driving human sustainability at work through responsible leaders + businesses to thrive from a place of well-being, ubuntu & joy.
On the 9th of April The Nomalanga Tribe hosted episode 4: The Human Sustainability Bottomline. This is part of our #humanisingbusinessseries - a research project, I consider my informal ‘post doc’, I formally initiated after winning the Advancing Equality award from Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology South Africa (SIOPSA). I’m still on a high from some of the insights and affirmations I got from our panel, who are highly accomplished and seasoned #CHROs. This week, I’ll be highlighting some ideas that stood out for me on the role CXOs can better play to contribute to the #humansustainabilitybottomline 🌱🌻 First up are points Cebile Xulu made around; 💜 the courage to bring our hearts to ‘work’ conversation that impact our realities for economic prosperity as business leaders in Africa 💜to need to make human sustainability solutions practical, tangible, and move the dial on these issues 💜 a crisis in ethical leadership and management creates toxic cultures that impede on our ability to addressed to build truly thriving organisations for thriving economies Listen to the rest here. Unlock the future. Empowering and encouraging young people to actively shape the future - their future - has been a passion of ours for many years. Since 2016, we have been supporting many young people from a township in Cape Town on their way to becoming young leaders with our Thatha Ithuba Foundation. They want to actively shape the future in their country, even if they come from an environment where everyone is lacking. Above all, there is a lack of confidence, security and opportunities. Thatha Ithuba means "Take your chance". Yes, everyone has opportunities, you just have to see them and seize them. Let's lead, not follow. Take your chance and support: https://lnkd.in/eQ6Qhwpg Or follow here: https://lnkd.in/eHkygGZ9 #letsleadnotfollow #futureisnow #futureleaders #empowerthefuture #youngafricanleaders
