Major automakers like Volkswagen and Stellantis risk £165M fines for not meeting the UK's Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate. This new legislation requires 22% of their sales to be zero-emission vehicles by year's end. Despite the push towards electric vehicles, many brands face significant shortfalls. This mandate is crucial for advancing the UK's clean energy goals and boosting the EV market, but it presents substantial challenges for traditional automakers. https://lnkd.in/gHTyh6b6 #EVNews #EV #Volkswagen #Stellantis #EV #ElectricVehicles #ZeroEmission #ZEV #UK #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #AutomotiveIndustry #GreenTech #ClimateAction #EVMarket #ElectricCars #BatteryElectric #RenewableEnergy #Ford #Nissan #Honda #Mazda

Saving our world, our environment versus short term mindless profiteering! When manufacturers like BMW,Volkswagen and Kia have no issue with the newest more stringent emission laws proposed, it seems mindless of other manufacturers wanting to buy more time, or in other words not wanting to pay for the R&D to get their vehicles compliant. Of course any pure EV manufacturer like Tesla and Polstar are supporting the new and responsible emission standards as their products during operation (not during manufacturing) have a zero emission if the electricity derived from renewable sources. The FCAI (federal chamber of automotive industry) should fully support the new emission laws instead of folding under pressure by some of their powerful members such as Totoyta. Well done Tesla, Polstar, BMW and Volkswagen for seeing the bigger picture here. #fcai #emissionsreduction #environmentalimpact #wakeupworld #bmw #volkswagengroup #polestar #tesla

There's a huge amount of ongoing investment in developing the technology for Hydrogen-powered vehicles, but the truth is that we are still some way from Hydrogen being adopted as a viable option for everyday public motorists. There have been less than 500 Hydrogen-powered vehicles registered in the UK in the last decade, but by 2030 industry insiders estimate there will be 13 million globally. Currently there are only two hydrogen vehicles models on UK roads; the Toyota Mirai released in 2015 (with 2nd generation released in 2021), and the Hyundai Nexo which soon followed. Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) and the BMW Group (BMW) signed a landmark agreement this week to enhance their collaboration in the hydrogen sector. The collaboration aims to create synergies in development and procurement to drive down costs. Toyota and BMW are collaborating on a third-generation fuel cell system, which will be integrated into models from both companies, offering customers a diverse range of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). As part of this initiative, BMW plans to launch its first mass-produced FCEV in 2028. Toyota's Mirai is a hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle currently available in some countries. Toyota and BMW have maintained a mid-to-long-term cooperative relationship in environmental technology since December 2011. #Toyota #BMW #Hydrogen #FuelCell #SustainableFuture #AutomotiveInnovation #CarbonNeutrality

A pioneer: The car manufacturer Stellantis is expanding production capacity for its commercial vehicle models with hydrogen fuel cells and has been mass-producing medium-sized and large vans since this year. The company is thus expanding its range of vehicles with zero-emission drive systems! 👏 According to jean-michel billig, head of the hydrogen program at Stellantis, the Group wants to expand its production capacity for fuel cell vehicles to 100,000 units per year by 2030. "In the coming decade, we expect a significant market share for this technology, which could be up to 40 percent for commercial vehicles," Billig told Welt am Sonntag. There are vans of various Stellantis brands that are produced with fuel cell drive, namely Citroën, Fiat Professional, Opel/Vauxhall Motors Ltd and Peugeot. According to the Group, Stellantis brand fuel cell vans offer a range of 400 km (medium) and 500 km (large) with a refueling time of 4-5 minutes. Stellantis aims to become a Group with net-zero CO2 emissions in all business areas by 2038. In Europe, the product range is to be decarbonized as early as 2030. As a solution, the Group is focusing on both batteries and fuel cells – as complementary solutions. With its strategy, Stellantis could become a role model for other car manufacturers. 💪 Sources: https://lnkd.in/eVXk2Wag https://lnkd.in/eUTgGBQa #hydrogendialogue #talkabouthydrogen #h2dialogue #casestudy #fuelcells #stellantis
