At long last Canada has released its Defence Policy Update (DPU). On #DigitalTechnologies: "We will make full use of our digital technologies by overhauling outdated and analog processes to improve our ability to hire people, conduct security screening, and share information in a timely way. This includes expanding the use of artificial intelligence-driven data management tools, initiatives to advance big data management, acquire analytical tools, and expand cloud-based computing on open and secure networks." On #UAS "To provide the Canadian Armed Foces with the speed and airlift capacity to assert Canada's sovereignty and respond to natural disasters and emergencies throughout the country, we will acquire a more modern, mobile and effective tactical helicopter capability. This capability may include a mix of crewed and uncrewed aircraft that will ensure Canada has modern aircraft to contribute to international operations with allies, including against threats from militaries with advanced capabilities."

In 2024, we expect to see the five defence domains (land, air, sea, cyber and space) move towards an integrated force based on data sharing and edge processing, similar to an enterprise data services model. Moving each of the domains away from being platform orientated and towards a service orientated architecture approach with timely, actionable and mission-critical data and intelligence as the driving force. However, such progress is only possible with cross industry, government and international collaboration, to build collaborative cultures, establish resilient standards and implement technology to bring Multi-Domain Integration to life. As revealed in our recent research that found defence decision makers acknowledge both government (58%) and industry (57%) should play a role in providing resources to develop and implement MDI strategies. #MavenScouts #Land #Air #Sea #Space #Industry

The discussion highlighted key initiatives like #DIFI, #WAVE consortiums, and #OpenAMIP, underscoring their role in advancing satellite communications. [SESAR Joint Undertaking Project] SESIOP Workshop 11-13 September 2024 Thales Hellas hosted a dedicated SESIOP workshop at the Tanagra Air Base in Athens, bringing together key air traffic management stakeholders. The event provided a great platform for networking and valuable discussions about #ATC in Greece and Europe. 👉 The SESIOP project (Single European Sky and Interoperability), with ENAC as a key partner, focuses on integrating military and civilian air traffic for enhanced efficiency, security, and safety.
