📣 Submit new or updated #Hydrogen #Infrastructure projects for inclusion in our joint map. 🗺 Six industry associations call on interested stakeholders to submit new and updated project information to be included in the next update of our joint #HydrogenInfrastructureMap. In 2022, CEDEC, ENTSOG, Eurogas, GD4S, GEODE and GIE launched a website visualising hydrogen projects with the cooperation of the European Hydrogen Backbone Initiative. This is in line with a European Commission request and is updated twice yearly. The mapping of these projects increases visibility and provides critical insights into the progress of Europe's hydrogen economy, facilitating the identification of gaps, synergies, and investment opportunities in the transition to a #NetZero future. The map currently visualises over 600 hydrogen projects, a significant addition to the last update, including: >180 hydrogen #transmission projects >60 hydrogen #distribution projects >80 hydrogen #storage projects >30 hydrogen #terminals & ports projects >20 hydrogen #demand >220 hydrogen #production projects This edition of the map also includes new projects for the first time coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Crete, Tunisia, Serbia, and many additional projects displayed in the Baltic region. Submit projects here ➡ https://lnkd.in/eYzg3usz #HydrogenInfrastructure #greenhydrogen #lowcarbon #h2

Label-Casian Notulescu, Secretary of State, Minister of Energy, Romania, was a keynote speaker on Day 2 of the Canadian Hydrogen Convention. He began by discussing how the hydrogen sector is at the early stages, but represents a promising piece of the energy transition. Romania is developing a Hydrogen Strategy with a focus on supporting the pathways to 2035 and 2050, specifically in the industrial and transportation sectors. It is necessary to invest in opportunities to facilitate injection of hydrogen into the existing natural gas infrastructure. Romania has successfully trialed 20% hydrogen into the existing natural gas infrastructure with no impact to end-users. He also stressed that there is a need for appropriate training and education in the hydrogen sector. Collaboration between government and industry was identified as a key requirement to advancing the hydrogen sector, something that has been a bit of a theme at the Canadian Hydrogen Convention. Label-Casian emphasized that for Romania, hydrogen is not just an energy carrier, but rather a symbol of innovation. From my perspective, the same could hold true for Alberta and Canada. #CHC2024 #hydrogen #cleanenergy #cleantechnologies #energy #HydrogenWeekYEG #H2Week2024

A new development of near-shore green hydrogen projects within Europe has been started by HydePoint and Norwegian Hydrogen. It has been planned that together these projects will jointly develop 10-40MW dockside. Furthermore, it has also been planned that HydePoint will be responsible for providing its hydrogen production technology which is suitable for marine environments. On the other hand, Norwegian Hydrogen will bring forwards their expertise in operating hydrogen infrastructure. The article below depicts a new project that will be taking place soon and it also highlights the specific role that each company will play. It also displays how important it is for the hydrogen industry and for companies involved in this industry, to be constantly pushing for better results, with the aim of advancing their sectors. Have you heard about the exciting news from East Germany? Six states have joined forces to create the Initiative for Hydrogen in East Germany (IWO). Their mission? To make their region the heart of a sustainable hydrogen economy in Germany! 💪 They're not just talking the talk, either. They're working on two proposals to present at the upcoming state energy ministers' conference in May. One will focus on creating regulations that support hydrogen projects, and the other on expanding pipelines to transport green hydrogen. 🚚 Why is this a big deal? Well, the region already has a lot of industries that use hydrogen, like chemicals and oil refining. But they want to make sure they have the infrastructure and support they need to keep growing and becoming even more sustainable. They're already making progress, too! There are projects like VNG's facility in Bad Lauchstädt energy park, which will supply green hydrogen to a nearby refinery. But they know they need to do more to catch up with other parts of Germany. So, what can we learn from this? It's all about collaboration and working together. By joining forces, these states are showing us that we can achieve more when we support each other. And when it comes to creating a sustainable future, we need all the support we can get! 🤝 #hydrogeneconomy #sustainability #collaboration https://lnkd.in/dFUWiWcZ

💬 This is what it will cost to transport hydrogen, from North Africa to Germany, through the Southern corridor2: Snam estimates. 🌍🔋 🚀🏗️ #hydrogen #transport #Snam #decarbonization #Europe #hydrogengreen #corridorSouth2 📅 The opportunities for collaboration between Italy and Germany in the hydrogen value chain are numerous and extend along the 3,300 kilometers of the SoutH2 Corridor. This new infrastructure for hydrogen transport from North Africa to Germany via Italy and Austria is being developed by Snam in collaboration with the TSOs of the countries involved (TAG, CGA and bayernets). 🔍 A gas pipeline will make it possible to transport hydrogen produced at competitive costs on the southern shore of the Mediterranean, aimed mainly at the consumer markets of Central Europe. This corridor will be crucial to replace methane of Russian origin and decarbonize European industries, explained Piero Ercoli, executive director of Snam's Decarbonization Unit, during the Italian-German Energy Forum 2024, organized in Rome by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany - ITKAM (event of which HydroNews was Media Partner). 🔗📌 Details: https://bit.ly/4cAznec .
