🌟 Reflecting on an impactful UHC Stars onsite in Minnesota 🌟 Building strong relationships and engaging stakeholders are the cornerstones of success in everything I do. My recent onsite meeting in MN with some of the Irish Analytics team is a testament to this, highlighting the transformative power of collaboration and communication. Throughout the week, it was clear that continuing to fostering these meaningful connections with our US based peers not only enhances our understanding of their needs and expectations but also drives innovation and improvement for the Stars business. By actively engaging with our partners, we can co-create solutions that are more aligned with the business goals and deliver for our members. One of the highlights for me was an in-person hackathon - dedicated time to delve deep into our data to answer pressing business questions. This focused approach allows us to uncover actionable insights, refine our strategies, make data-driven decisions that propel us forward, but above all collaboratively solve some of our burning business questions. Key takeaways from the onsite for me was creating spaces for honest and open conversations helps to identify common challenges and opportunities for growth and aligning on a shared vision and objectives ensures that everyone is working towards the same goals. I look forward to continue to prioritize these principles [with some of the other capabilities we have here in Ireland supporting the Stars business], knowing that our collective efforts will lead to greater achievements and a brighter future for UHC Stars. #RelationshipBuilding #StakeholderEngagement #Collaboration #UHCStars #HealthcareInnovation #AnalyticsVacation #DataDriven #Teamwork #MinnesotaOnsite

Had an incredible time volunteering at #SB24SanDiego! It was a joy to meet new friends and connect with professionals driven by purpose and impact. One of my favorite sessions was with Neil Theise, MD, a liver pathologist from NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He delved into the scientific theory of connection, consciousness, and being—a truly thought-provoking exploration! For all the leaders out there, I want to share these 4 essential rules for promoting an adaptive and sustainable team: 1. Numbers matter: Diversity and interaction are key to self-organization. Is there enough diversity in your team? 2. Negative feedback loops prevail: This type of feedback keeps things balanced (ie, like an AC system, which avoids extreme temperatures). Are there too many positive feedback loops in your processes? Do you make time and space for negative feedback loops? 3. Local interactions without global sensing: The most impactful changes happen locally, without centralized control. Are we paying attention to local shifts and dynamics in our teams? 4. Low-level randomness is essential: A little bit of randomness promotes creativity and adaptability. Are we cultivating enough randomness for innovation, or are we too restrictive? #SustainabilityInAction #CorporateGovernance #SustainabilityLeadership @SustainableBrands

The in-between moments can often be... challenging. I just came off of an incredible HIGH through these last few conferences. I was able to share my perspectives, meet new people, and learn innovative things. But now is the in-between. What do you do with the in-between to ensure that the momentum continues? How will you continue the conversation? We have such a wonderful opportunity to continue to learn and grow from one another. Let's proactively choose not to miss it. 💛 #passionandpurpose #mentorshipmatters #scrs2024 #lovemyjob #lovemyteam #keepgrowing #clinicalresearch #clinicalresearchcoordinators #clinicalresearchassociates #growth

Absolutely! A strong team and effective leadership are the cornerstones of accomplishing any task successfully. Together, they synergize efforts, leverage diverse skills, and foster a collaborative environment where each member feels empowered and valued. A good leader not only sets clear goals and expectations but also inspires and motivates the team to perform at their best. Meanwhile, a good team comprises individuals who bring unique strengths, perspectives, and expertise to the table, complementing each other's abilities and working towards a common objective. When these elements align, they create a powerful force capable of overcoming challenges, adapting to changes, and achieving remarkable results.
We've all read about the five stages of group development, but experiencing them firsthand is an entirely different ballgame. Well, buckle up, because I'm about to take you on the wildest roller-coaster ride as our crew lived and breathed through each phase while organizing that high-octane IMMRC National Conference. Our voyage towards the IMMRC National Conference was an odyssey of personal growth and team evolution. When we first embarked on this journey, we were just a group of individuals (Forming Stage) trying to figure out how to work together. Alas, there were disagreements and clashes (Storming Stage). Putting together an event of this magnitude felt impossible. However, Dr. Preshni Khare unwavering belief in our potential was the beacon that guided us through the tempest. Under her sage mentorship, we learned to appreciate and harness the unique strengths that each member brought to the ensemble (Norming Stage). Gradually, our discordant melodies transformed into a harmonious symphony as we discovered the art of effective collaboration (Performing Stage). The real test came during the conference itself. Thanks to our hard work, Dr. Preshni guidance, and the invaluable insights from our Dean, Prof. Smita Lal & Director , Dilip Nandkeolyar we successfully hosted numerous research paper presentations (Adjourning Stage). What started as a daunting task with zero participation turned into a remarkable achievement. I am truly grateful to Dr. Preshni for her unwavering support, her nurturing leadership, and her confidence in our team. Her commitment to excellence and her passion for creating positive change have left an everlasting mark on each of us. We are incredibly grateful to Dean ma'am for sharing her vast experience with us. Her guidance and attention to even the smallest details provided us with a perspective we couldn't have gained otherwise. Her insights were truly a boon for our team. We are equally indebted to Director sir for his mentorship role in our journey, correcting our mistakes and providing constructive feedback that helped us progress. #Team_Transformation_Journey #AchievementUnlocked #EventSuccess

As we come to an end on B Corp Month, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic event we hosted last week. Here are some key insights I gathered: ✅ Businesses aspire to uphold ethical and sustainable standards but often lack clarity on initiating their ESG strategy. This is where the B Impact Assessment (BIA) comes into play! ✅ We need to refine how we communicate the essence of B Corp and the comprehensive sustainability standards it signifies. Sometimes, the B Corp logo doesn't convey its full significance to people. Breaking down the logo and its meaning into impact areas could enhance understanding. ✅ Engaging senior management in the importance of ESG initiatives can be challenging. To bridge this gap, we speak their language, present data supporting our ESG initiatives, and emphasize the efficiency gained by leveraging the (free) BIA tool rather than reinventing the wheel. ✅ Existing B Corps are enthusiastic about the movement and willingly offer mentorships or team sessions while sharing their experiences, both successes and challenges. ✅ Many businesses are doing really well in terms of sustainability, but don't have policies or says of working formalised. A B Leader can be a great support here. ✅ Each of us is responsible for supporting B Corps and raising awareness among end users. ✅ As B Leaders, we can leverage each other's expertise in impact areas and business operations to assist clients in their certification journey. Let's foster collaboration and extend support to emerging B Corps. ✅ Ireland stands out as one of the few countries offering grant support for B Corp certification. ✅ Lastly, as we have 38 current B Corps, compiling our data on team retention, revenue, consumer awareness, emissions, etc will be critical to support the movement. #bcorp #blabireland #bleader #bcorpeurope #bcorpcertified B Lab Ireland
