When you're at an organization with multiple brands, like Spurs Sports & Entertainment, cultivating a unified culture can be a challenging endeavor. Samantha Simmons said, "building a cohesive culture requires a deep understanding of the similarities and differences that exist across various segments of the organization.” It involves acknowledging and embracing these nuances while simultaneously establishing a set of core principles and goals that resonate with everyone, regardless of their unique experiences. She believes the key is to strike a balance between fostering a consistent, overarching culture and allowing teams the flexibility to infuse their work with their distinct personalities and perspectives. You don’t want to stifle individuality or limit teams' abilities to reflect the uniqueness of their roles and environments. Instead, the focus should be on recommitting to the organization's mission, purpose, and a clear, collective vision. She adds, "It's about challenging the notion of 'this is how it's always been done' and continuously evaluating what you want to be true for the entire organization."
