🎉 GA4 'Unattributable' Source Issue Solved 🎉 If you've been seeing a new 'unattributable' source / medium in GA4 since the end of March, you aren't alone. Read on for our fix! From the 28th of March, some of our clients were seeing this alongside drops in GA4 recorded conversions for Google Ads. However, we weren't seeing the same drops in the Google Ads interfaces themselves, leading to a far greater discrepancy in conversions between Google Ads & Google Analytics than we've seen before. We don't know exactly why this has been happening, but have been able to fix the issue by changing the 'Reporting Identity' in GA4 from 'Blended' to 'Device'. This is a front end change that affects how data is displayed in GA4, but has no effect on the back end, so you can switch it back & forth without concern. Upon doing this, the 'unattributable' source disappeared immediately, & our Paid Search conversions are back to a normal level. If you need help with any other attribution/analytics issues - get in touch! Do Good, Better #GoogleAnalytics #Attribution #DigitalMarketing

🚨 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 4 (𝗚𝗔4) 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄! Over the past few days, GA4 users worldwide have raised concerns about significant discrepancies in website traffic reporting. Starting November 13, many websites report a shocking 50% drop in traffic—a discrepancy confirmed by cross-referencing data from Google Search Console and other analytics tools. 💡 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀: 1. Overall traffic volumes 2. Channel attribution data 3. Landing page performance 4. Event tracking 5. Real-Time Analytics: Reports remain accurate for live tracking but show incomplete historical data. 💻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴? 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿: "GA4 reports just 4,445 users, but Search Console data indicates over 13,000 actual visitors during the same period." 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: While connected accounts continue to receive data, many GA4 users don’t leverage this tool. Potential Cause? This aligns with Google’s mid-November updates to its attribution system, but no official link or fix has been announced. 🚀 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗗𝗼? 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮: Compare GA4 reports with Google Search Console or other analytics tools. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘆: If applicable, connect your GA4 account to preserve detailed data. Monitor Updates: Google has yet to release an official statement, so stay tuned for developments. 📣 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: This serves as a reminder to diversify your analytics stack and ensure redundancy in data collection methods. Don’t rely on a single tool to guide critical decisions! 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀—𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗚𝗔4 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀?
