📱 In the constantly evolving number of threats in the landscape of cybersecurity, a new form of phishing has emerged : The Quishing. Standing for QR Phishing, this new threat use QR codes to deceive users and compromise their digital security. Unlike traditional phishing attacks, which often rely on urls shared by email, fake websites or SMS, Quishing operates through QR codes embedded in physical objects or digital displays. Scanning these codes can grant hackers access to sensitive information or install unexpected software on a user's device. With the increasing use of QR technology in everyday life and the omnipresence of our mobile phone, the risk of Quishing is considerable and can be present everywhere, from mobile payments to advertising. It's crucial for individuals and organizations to stay vigilant and adopt robust security practices to mitigate this emerging threat. While the awareness advices for phishing are still valid, continue to protect yourself and your data by verifying the source of QR codes before scanning them, and always be cautious when sharing personal information online.
