Here's what others are saying: "Erin and Howard created an incredibly safe and supportive learning environment, which was essential for such a sensitive subject. Their communication on how we can be most supportive to our clients was clear and impactful, offering fresh perspectives on handling grief. This workshop is truly changing the way we approach and discuss the topic of grief, making it more accessible and less daunting for both coaches and clients." https://bit.ly/3YCs8Ot I am beginning to think that people consider moral injury a healthcare work thing; however it's also an educators, public defender, administrator thing... In today's episode I spoke with Wendy Dean, MD on Moral Injury of Healthcare and her book If I Betray These Words: Moral Injury in Medicine and Why It's So Hard for Clinicians to Put Patients First. Moral injury occurs when e.g. healthcare workers are forced to act in conflict with their values due to systemic pressures which lead to deep psychological and emotional distress. This happens e.g. when working in systems which prioritize profit over patient care. #visiblevoice #moralinjury #workplaceculture #healthcaresystemchange #communication

Are you thinking about accessing therapy? One of the questions I am asked the most is about the difference between accessing therapy on the NHS, and whether to choose a private therapist. There are so many considerations to take into account. My latest blog considers some of the issues. I'm always happy to talk to you if you are interested in accessing therapy, whether that ends up being with me, another therapist, or indeed with an NHS service. My contact details are in the blog article.

💡 Being a caregiver involves more than just providing care. It's about empowerment through knowledge. Imagine the stress of not having vital legal, financial, or medical information readily available when a crisis hits. Without these essentials, decisions become overwhelming, and the well-being of your loved one hangs in the balance. Don't wait for a crisis to strike—take proactive steps now to gather and organize this crucial information. Reach out to legal professionals, financial advisors, and healthcare providers for guidance. Empower yourself with the knowledge you need to navigate caregiving with confidence and compassion. You can also listen to Zen from zero, essential caregiver knowledge and then read my guest, Alexandra Frees book Zero to Zen. #CaregiverAwareness #Empowerment

As a PSW, how do you support patients as they adjust to changes in their life as they age? PSWs can provide support by asking open-ended questions then actively listening to the patient's reflections on their situation. Here are a few examples of open-ended questions: 👂 I can hear it is hard for you to no longer be able to do _____? 👂 How does this make you feel? 👂 Is there anything we can do to make you feel better? Now, or in the future? By asking open-ended questions, you create an opportunity to provide patients with emotional support regarding their fears, concerns, and grief. Looking for more actionable tips for integrating a palliative approach in your work? Have you ever heard or read about a coach talking about a player and saying the player has to “get her head into the game or his emotions under control?” Whatever is triggering the player, they’re experiencing some fear, anxiety, or anger, and they no longer see themselves or the situation in front of them clearly. The coach acts as a mirror to calm them down and bring them back to what has made them successful. The coach brings them back to themselves. And when that happens, they perform better. They catch better, hit better, tackle better, serve better, kick better, and shoot better. Their minds, bodies, and emotions are in harmony. And that is what we’ll do in a Caregivers Journey workshop as a group. We’ll address what is getting in the way of being the caregiver you want to be. caregiversjourney.org What is your organization doing to support caregivers?

Caring for a loved one with health challenges? A caregiver coach can provide the support and guidance you need to navigate this overwhelming journey. I'm caring for a loved one, too, and when I started, I had no idea how intense it would be. When I work with my clients, I help them balance caring for their loved ones while also caring for themselves—managing time and energy, balancing work, life, and caregiving. It’s about being prepared for emergencies because they always happen. Becoming a caregiver is unpredictable. Unless you've been one, you don't know what lies ahead, and even then, every caregiving experience is unique. If you need help navigating this journey, contact a caregiver coach! If you need help finding one, DM 📩 me or visit the MCI website to find a coach who speaks your language and can support you through these challenges. #CaregiverSupport #CaregivingJourney #CaregiverCoach #SelfCareForCaregivers #BalanceAndCare #livingwithanillness #chronicillness #medicalcoach #Medical #medicalcoach #medicalcoaching #medicalcoach #mci Olga Matsouki Cécile Garache Isabella Puddu Maria Beatriz Albuquerque Tamar Meisel Michelyn Bilancia Medical Coaching Institute (MCI) Brasil e Portugal Medical Coaching Institute (MCI) Greece Medical Coaching Institute (MCI) Italia e Svizzera italiana Medical Coaching Institute (MCI) France
