#Powerbi - Make room for data labels Data labels can sometimes be placed on top of the visual elements due to the auto max value of the y-axis. But there is a workaround you can use so you can let your users expand the max value and still having it set to auto ... want to know how... let me know in the comments if you want to know how ... 🤔 #powerbitip #datavisualization Follow me for more tips and tricks in #PowerBI
Super interested in your solution! I came up with a workaround to display full labels in a Power BI bar chart. I created a dummy measure by subtracting a fixed value (like an average or median) from the original measure. Then, I used a stacked bar chart, placing the dummy value in the chart with no borders, making it invisible. Not the best solution but works decently.
I loved using measures to calculate the max value and then multiply it by 110% or so as my Y axis limit. However, 10% is sometimes too much room, and sometimes not enough - this tool is fantastic for analysts to quickly make the perfect adjustment when screenshotting these charts to be used in emails/powerpoints. Assuming this is a parameter - what a simple and easy way to get great visual functionality. Awesome as usual, thanks Erik.

Very cool, nice work! Would love to see how you incorporated that into a visual calc...

1moLooks nice, how did you accomplish that?
