STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR HIGH PERFORMER WOMEN 💊 (especially in motherhood) Until 2024… these products were not on my radar or a part of my daily conversations. Zoloft Prozac Lexapro Wellbutrin Duloxetine And now, my clients have put these products on my radar. 👀 Often thought of initially as a “magic pill” coping mechanism for mental health turbulence. Based on who I am as a person, what my beliefs and preferences are, and how I choose to manage my own physical & mental health.. ❤️ I have attracted clients that do not see these products as sustainable, long-term solutions in their lives. ✖️ Before choosing to work with me, my clients have already made the decision (in partnership with a licensed professional) that their mental strength, self-love and resilience is going to GO UP, and dependence on the “magic pill” is going to GO DOWN. I am not licensed to be making recommendations about drugs or supplements, so I just listen and ask questions. I am simply observing a pattern amongst the ambitious women that are choosing to do the hard work to build their resilience, mental toughness, and long-term happiness and success. 💪 What’s your “magic pill” of choice?

This week I'm going to do something VERY generous for 5 stressed out midlife women that are either struggling with their anxiety, anger, or wanting to lose weight, or lower their blood pressure that I'll probably never do again.... This is an opportunity to win something valued at $130, FREE!! Since starting my coaching business, stress management is the #1 thing people are concerned about regarding their heart health. As a cardiac nurse for 13 years there is no discussion with patients about managing stress. There is no direction to acquire coping skills so that you can deal with stress in the moment and over time. That is a big part of why I got into Coaching, so that I can make a bigger impact and focus on prevention rather than just the treatment. Right now we have "sickcare" not healthcare. My mission is to lower the heart disease rate with one incredible human at a time and I'm SO inspired to make this a reality. Why is managing your stress so important for your heart? Well, excess stress effects heart health because it can cause chest pain, irregular heartbeats, shortness of breath, and an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. I get it, I've been there. I have been totally stressed out, snapping at my family. Anxious in social situations, saying dumb stuff. Feeling overwhelmed and not knowing how to mentally organize to move forward. As well as that, my research has shown that people really want to lose weight and lower their blood pressure, and that is exactly what my expertise and process helps you on, so I'll also be covering this on the call if it's a goal of yours. So I'm going to give you 45 minutes of my time for FREE (normally $130)! If you resonate with or experience any of the following, this would be a superb fit for you. I'll be helping the winners with: 😮💨 Overcoming anger 😮💨 Experiencing overwhelm & overthinking 😮💨 A weight loss roadmap 😮💨 Lack of focus 😮💨 What to do to lower blood pressure I'll be helping you with the exact process my client got when she was able to manage her task list step by step and make some long overdue doctor's appointments to help her with access to new meds, all in 2 weeks. Or my other client who was experiencing extreme overwhelm, and is now in the process of self-belief using coping tools while going through a divorce. It's my mission to get you an incredible win after this call and I look forward to helping the selected winners. Shoot me a DM or comment below "WINNING" If it sounds like your jam, and I'll let you know if you've won! 😟 Stress can have a profound impact on our physical and mental wellbeing. In this current climate, many Australians are experiencing heightened stress levels due to the increased pressures of the cost of living and the impact of this on our work, family, and personal life. Physically, stress can lead to headaches, muscle tension, digestive issues, and weakened immunity. Long-term stress raises the risk of conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. Mentally, stress affects mood, causing irritability, anxiety, and depression, and can impair concentration and memory, which further exacerbates pressures at work and home. Chronic stress may also lead to sleep issues, fatigue, and an increased reliance on unhealthy coping behaviours like overeating or substance use. Managing stress effectively is essential for overall health, as prolonged stress can reduce quality of life and hinder personal and professional functioning. 👉In honour of #NationalStressAwarenessDay, here are some simple, evidence-based tips to help you manage stress effectively, which aim to improve resilience and support mental well-being. In the US alone, 83% of workers experience work-related stress, with 25% naming their job as the top stressor in their lives. Unfortunately, this kind of stress doesn’t only stay at work, it also spills over into other areas, impacting productivity, mental well-being, and even personal relationships — creating a challenging cycle to break. As a matter of fact, the same survey also revealed that these people also agreed that workplace stress directly affects their mental health. And for those who leave this level of stress untreated, the consequences can be severe. This was echoed by another study after it revealed that work-related stress is linked to approximately 120,000 deaths each year, highlighting the toll of the relentless hustle and grind culture in the corporate world. The good news is that we can help people realize that, despite this challenging environment, achieving mental wellness is possible. If you've been following me for a while you will know that mental health is SUPER IMPORTANT to me. As a young woman, I was struggling significantly with fear and anxiety to gather with other women and periodically to leave my house. Through the encouragement of my husband, I decided to get together with the women from the little church we were attending at the time. Later on, as a mother, I had periods where anxiety would raise its head and I had to take charge emotionally and spiritually. There's so much more to this story but I want to emphasize and stress an important point in all of this.. 𝗪𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬? In other words, 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲. Then when we encounter difficulty our mental health declines. I'm happy to say that I no longer have crippling times where I don't want to leave the house nor am I anxious to hang out with other women. The reason for this is that I keep building resiliency because life has its challenges and I'm not about to go back to the old ways. As a mother, I have learned to let go and continue to use the letting go process sometimes daily. As a Holistic Well-Being Coach, I am pleased to have helped and continue to help women and workplaces to increase their resiliency. Stress isn’t just something we occasionally face - it's a daily companion for many. Whether it's juggling work deadlines, personal responsibilities, or just the mental overload of modern life, constant stress can wreak havoc on our mental health. And while stress itself is a natural response to life's challenges, ongoing, chronic stress can lead to serious health concerns, like depression. Do you have any of these six traits? They are our psychological buffers to stress that can prevent it progressing into burnout. But they don’t often come easily to us, for many people these are traits that they’ve had to work on and practice. This is because many of us grew up in a culture or family that didn’t model or value self-care, boundaries or pacing. If you also grew up with many unmet childhood needs (trauma of omission) then this will be even harder for you, and working hard could be a form of emotion regulation and insecure striving (striving to prove your worth or to be accepted by others). Of course burnout is an issue related to unmanaged, chronic occupational stress so psychological traits on their own are not to blame (it is not your fault). But if you slide into unhealthy coping strategies under stress then it contributes to the vicious cycle of stress and low self-esteem that further disempower you. Fortunately there is something you can do about this! We can learn these traits at any age with: ⭐️psycho-education (understanding psychological research and theories about how humans tick) ⭐️practicing evidence-based therapy techniques ⭐️getting support- people who can give you compassionate accountability and celebrate you when you make small inroads Want to learn these traits? I cover them in this book: UK: Burnout: How To Manage Your Nervous System Before It Manages You USA: The Trauma of Burnout #wellbeing #burnoutrecovery

I’ve been struggling for a while… With World Mental Health Day on Thursday 10th October, I wanted to be open (and a little bit vulnerable) about some of the challenges I’ve been facing as a female business owner and mother. Here's what I’ve been struggling with: ↳ Switching off from work: At times, I find it incredibly difficult to switch off from my business. There’s always something new to work on, a problem to solve, a fire to fight or an idea to develop. It can be mentally exhausting. ↳ The pressure of motherhood: Sometimes, as a mother, the pressure is overwhelming. Between questioning my decisions daily and still feeling the weight of postpartum challenges - three years on - I don't find it straightforward. ↳ Self-doubt: I often question if I’m falling short and could be doing better, setting standards for myself that sometimes feel impossibly high. As a result, it’s left me feeling emotionally drained and mentally fatigued. New habits I'm trying to consistently implement to better manage my mental health: ↳ Setting boundaries: After learning from a past project where the lines became blurred, I now set clear expectations upfront in my client relationships. Working hours only - no weekends or evenings. ↳ Prioritising me-time: Dog walks, gardening, baking, over-indulgent skincare regimes and reading – making time for myself is now a non-negotiable. ↳ Digital detox: This one's hard given the nature of my work, but I’m making a conscious effort to limit screen time - especially on social media - and take intentional breaks from my phone to mentally disconnect. ↳ Embracing imperfection: I’m learning that it’s okay not to have it all figured out and to focus on progress over perfection. I’ve started making these changes - it's still a WIP, but I wanted to share them in case they help someone else along the way. If anyone reading this has any other tips, I'm all ears 👂🏻 While I’ve been finding new ways to manage my stress and anxiety levels I’ve learnt that mental health struggles aren’t always visible. It could be the 'strong' friend, the one who’s always making everyone laugh, or the person who seems to have it all together. Take a moment to check in on your loved ones, friends and colleagues - it could mean more than you realise. Sometimes, all someone needs is a simple reminder that they’re not alone 💚 #worldmentalhealthday
