James Clear said, "Environment is the invisible hand that shapes human behavior." That observation couldn't be truer for entrepreneurs considering where to launch and build their startups. Getting the environment right takes a mix of resources specifically designed for startups. the region offers business-friendly tax laws, affordable real estate, and ample access to capital and other support structures. And considerations like culture, walkability, and green spaces make livability high to attract and retain skilled workers. A recent Clever poll studied those factors. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, PitchBook, Google Trends, and Home Bay confirm the findings. Atlanta is the best city for entrepreneurs. Coming on the heels of the excellent data roundup from JLL this week (scroll down to see it), the ranking isn't surprising. It is great validation that we are a startup-friendly region based on: 💪 Strong business growth 🎓 A large talent pool 💰 Low startup costs 💰💰 Ample access to VC capital Our friends in Miami came in at number 2, which makes us extra excited to be in the city for eMerge Americas in just a few weeks! The Southeast keeps on keeping on - let's keep growing! #Poll #Atlanta #Miami #Startup #Innovation #VentureCapital #Investment #BusinessGrowth #SOSU

As a startup founder in San Francisco, Bay Area I’ve come to appreciate the unique advantages this region offers. But what makes it so special? 🤔 Many countries have a hierarchical loop of problems: 1. No market opportunity 2. No missed opportunity cost 3. No sense of urgency 4. No need for efficiency 5. No need for technology 6. No need for innovation 7. No need for risk capital 8. No need for startups 9. No market disruption And we go back to 1 🔁 This is a loop that is very hard to overcome. You cannot fix just one; all these aspects are in direct connection with each other. What sets California apart? 🌟 Let's go back to 1848. When President James K. Polk announced the discovery of gold in California, it sparked the Gold Rush, drawing thousands to the state with dreams of prosperity. The gold in the ground was the market opportunity, and the announcement that whoever finds it can keep it made capturing this opportunity possible. People innovated, finding efficient ways to extract and utilize resources. This need for efficiency and technology laid the foundation for a culture of innovation in California. The Bay Area became synonymous with market disruption and technological advancement—a legacy that continues to this day. The Gold Rush may have ended, but its impact on the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Bay Area remains a powerful force. --- This post, along with the generated poster, was created with STORI AI, which assisted in structuring and refining the narrative to ensure clarity and impact.
