New TotalEnergies-discovered gas resources in Denmark to provide more energy for Europe   #TotalEnergies has announced that the Harald East Middle Jurassic nearby #exploration well (HEMJ-1X) has discovered additional #gas #condensate resources in the Harald field, in the #Danish #NorthSea.   The HEMJ-1X well was #drilled in the Eastern part of Harald field and “encountered 48 meters of net gas condensate pay in a good quality reservoir”. The well to be “immediately” connected to the Harald platform and is expected to start producing before the end of the year through the existing Harald and Tyra facilities.   This additional #discovery at the Harald field will contribute to Danish #energy supply by boosting our existing production in the North Sea in line with the Danish National Compromise”, said Kevin McLachlan, the French operator’s SVP of exploration.   TotalEnergies is the operator of the Danish Underground Consortium with a 43,2% working interest, alongside Joint Venture partners BlueNord (36,8%) and Nordsøfonden (20%). Woodside Energy Group Ltd. has agreed to sell a 15.1% stake in its Scarborough liquefied natural gas project to JERA Co., Inc., Japan's largest power producer, for $1.4 billion. The deal includes a purchase price of $740 million and reimbursement for spending on the project which is located off the coast of Western Australia. The purchase made by JERA Co., Inc. indicates the increasing importance and confidence of Japanese customers in the long-term demand for the project. Japan, the world's second-largest LNG buyer, is securing more gas as a result of the 2022 energy crisis and is urging companies to invest in projects and lock in supply. 🌍🔧🚀 The Danish Underground Consortium - TotalEnergies, BlueNord, and Nordsøfonden - announced that Tyra II’s full technical capacity has been achieved, with production expected to reach maximum levels by year-end. The Tyra II facility faced delays due to transformer issues impacting gas compressors, yet repairs were completed ahead of schedule. This facility will make Denmark a net gas exporter, with projected annual production of 2.8 billion cubic meters, strengthening Denmark’s energy security and Europe’s independence from Russian gas imports. 🏗️⚙️📉 Tyra II will become a cornerstone in Denmark’s energy production, supplying up to 6% of the EU's natural gas and marking Denmark’s return as a net gas exporter. Tyra, Denmark's largest natural gas field, underwent a major redevelopment, including recycling old platforms, upgrading existing legs, and adding new topsides, a process module, and a residential platform. As Denmark progresses in green energy, Tyra II emphasizes the ongoing need for natural gas, as nearly half of Denmark’s and Europe’s energy needs are still met by fossil fuels. The Tyra hub, now at full operational capacity, will play a key role in Denmark's energy transition, offering reduced emissions while supplying essential energy.

Deutsche ReGas and Höegh-LNG to develop the world's first floating import terminal for hydrogen ◾ Deutsche ReGas, a mid-sized company in the European energy infrastructure sector and operator of the only privately financed LNG-terminals in Germany in Mukran and prior to that in Lubmin, and Höegh-LNG, a world-leading provider of maritime energy supply infrastructure, signed an agreement in principle to realize the “H2-Import-Terminal Lubmin”. ◾ The terminal will be the world’s first floating import terminal for the industrial-scale conversion of green ammonia to green hydrogen. ◾ The terminal is planned to be in operation from early 2026. The terminal will be the world’s first floating green ammonia cracker, producing around 30,000 tons of hydrogen per year that will be fed into the hydrogen core network via the existing feed-in point at the Deutsche ReGas Terminal in the port of Lubmin. ◾ The green ammonia cracker technology embedded into the barge solution has been developed by Höegh LNG and serves as an industrial pilot for the conversion and decarbonization of FSRU’s in Germany. ◾ Deutsche ReGas will provide the on-shore terminal infrastructure, the overall coordination of the entire project, including permitting and the marketing of the importcapacities at the terminal. ◾ We are excited about this next step in our cooperation with Höegh LNG". In a groundbreaking 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲's Deutsche ReGas and 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲's Höegh LNG have announced plans to develop the 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥, set to be operational by early 2026. The 𝐇𝟐-𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭-𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐧 will convert green ammonia into approximately 30,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, leveraging Höegh LNG's innovative ammonia cracker technology integrated into a floating barge solution. This pioneering project aims to feed hydrogen into the core network via the 𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐆𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐧, supporting the decarbonization of industrial regions in eastern and southern Germany. The decision by Petroineos to close Grangemouth, Scotland's only oil refinery, is a decision by two entities: Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos and its joint venture partner in the ownership of PetroIneos: PetroChina, the publicly listed arm of China National Pertroleum Corporation, the largest state-owned oil and gas corporation in China. This is happening as Mingyang Smart Energy - China's largest offshore wind turbine manufacturer - is one of 10 priority supply chain projects being advanced in Scotland under the Strategic Investment Model (SIM), organised under the auspices of SOWEC and the Scottish Government, among others. So, we have a direct Chinese stake, and involvement in various interlinked ways, in the dilemmas around the "just transition" in Scotland's energy sector and workforce.

UK's Energy Security: Potential for O&G Projects Amid License Halt While the UK government has halted new drilling licenses for the North Sea, there remains potential for existing and planned projects to proceed: --Murlach Oil Field Development: bp's Central North Sea project aims for first oil by Q2 2025, redeveloping the former Skua field. --Cambo Phase 1: Led by Ithaca Energy, this project moves forward despite environmental opposition, with a FID expected in 2025. --Talbot Field Development: Harbour Energy’s project targets first oil by Q3 2024, featuring a multi-well subsea tie-back to the Judy platform. --Affleck & Victory Redevelopment: Operated by Neo Energy, these enhancements aim to extend field life and output, with production expected by 2024-2025. --Rosebank Field: Operated by Equinor and Ithaca Energy, off the Shetland Islands, this major project plans production between 2026-2027 with significant reserves. #northsea #oilandgas #energy #energysecurity

The first gas supplies have successfully reached #Nybro, Denmark, a significant stride towards bolstering the nation's energy security. With an anticipated daily gas production of 5.7 million cubic meters and 22,000 barrels of condensate, Denmark's largest natural gas field, Tyra II, is set to play a pivotal role in meeting energy demands. We’ve signed our second long-term Heads of Agreement for our lower-carbon Ruwais LNG project, which will enable us to reliably and responsibly provide more natural gas to the world. The 15-year agreement with SEFE Marketing & Trading Ltd – a subsidiary of Germany’s SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH – is for the delivery of 1 million metric tonnes of LNG per year. Set to be one of the lowest-carbon intensity LNG facilities in the world, the Ruwais LNG project will also leverage the latest technologies and AI tools to lower emissions and drive efficiency. This agreement also demonstrates the UAE-German Energy Security and Industry Accelerator in action – advancing cooperation in energy security, decarbonization and lower-carbon fuels.
