We started our chat today discussing a few papers: one out of New York University and Stanford University on "Predicting Results of Social Science Experiments Using Large Language Models" -- then two other papers from CMB and Infotools, Insights powered by Harmoni. 📚 We chatted up a new app we spotted at Product Hunt called Me.bot from MindOS (https://www.me.bot/). Yes, I'm trying it. Yes, I'm a little worried about the personal data I'm tempted to provide it. But, what can I say, I'm a risk taker! ✳ Then we moved onto Stagwell's reported earnings and M&A activity involving YouGov and Yabble™ and Dig Insights and Ignite 360 (shout out to you, Rob Volpe) and Pureprofile and SpriveApp. Good stuff there, peeps. I gave an updated version of my talk about the "A.I." hype wave a few weeks ago. I think of myself as a technology optimistic and enthusiast, yet many folks are asking me why I'm against "A.I." I don't think of myself in that way; I'm pointing out that the algorithms being referred to under the marketing banner of "A.I." have existed and been improving for decades, not months. History teaches us that these technology hype cycles only get in the way of figuring out the true utility of innovations to improve the human condition. Time is starting to prove my point. Take a look at the updated version of my talk from DjangoCon US. We've all learned a lot since then, and it has only been six months.

🎉 Task 2 Completed! 🚀 I successfully implemented a K-means clustering algorithm to group retail store customers based on their purchase history using the Mall Customer Dataset. This project was a great opportunity to apply machine learning techniques and uncover valuable insights into customer behavior. We achieved a 50% increase in registration rates, but it didn't happen overnight. It took persistence, tweaking, and endless testing to get there. Years ago, I was working on optimizing our invite system. Our initial attempts? Total flops. After weeks of trying, I felt the stress building. But I never for a single moment doubted we could boost registration rates with our data science models. We kept trying and testing, taking new angles, adding new features. And finally, one of our models hit the mark—a 50% increase in registration rates! The lesson? Never doubt your ability to make a change. Keep tweaking your approach, and you’ll get there.
