New beginnings💫 Starting fresh in a new country can be both daunting and thrilling. In 2019, I moved from New York to Eindhoven, the Netherlands , a place where I only knew my husband. It was a new chapter, filled with unknowns. As we move into 2023, and I’m now starting another adventure in Miami after five years in the Netherlands, once again diving into new beginnings with only a handful of connections. 🚩 Each new start comes with its challenges. Adapting to different work cultures, understanding the professional landscape, and building relationships from scratch can be tough. But I’ve found that maintaining enthusiasm and a positive attitude is key in facing any challenge. Looking back, I would never have guessed in 2019 that I’d find myself involved in the tech world, a field that fuels my curiosity and energy every day. From learning about aerodynamics on top of the roofs to connecting fiber optics in labs, each discovery has shaped my journey as a tech marketer and deepened my passion for what I do. Every challenge holds the potential for unknown discoveries. Sometimes, the path forward isn’t clear, but the journey itself is worth the pursuit. 🌎 How was it for you to start fresh in a new country professionally? What kept you going when things got tough? #personaljourney #careerpath #techmarketing

17-year-old Riya would have never believed she would visit 12 countries in 3 months! Exactly a year ago, I had gone from taking long walks on the IIM-B campus to strolling in the streets of France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, and many more Western European countries. I was a postgraduate student at IÉSEG School of Management Lille on most days and a backpacking traveler with a mission to travel as much as possible on the holidays! This meant most of my days were filled with planning travel itineraries, hopping from one location to another, and finishing assignments on trains. What I thought would only be a foreign trip turned out to be one of the biggest perspective shifts for me. Exposure to different cultures and atmospheres opened my horizons and altered how I perceive life. One of the biggest realizations was that the country you are born in has the biggest influence on your growth. From your thought process to your holistic development, everything is dependent on it. Of course, I knew this at the back of my mind but I got to see the how and the why. I witnessed how people think and function when life's basic needs such as education, healthcare, and social security are taken care of. Along with this, access to high-quality public services, public transport, and resources just results in a very systematic ecosystem for one to thrive. An environment like this pushes people to think beyond the conventional. They tend to be more creative, more adventurous, approach problems with an open mind, have more autonomy in their lives, and can better balance leisure and work, along with peace of mind. Visiting such places for the first time in my life allowed me to see how much potential a supportive environment unlocks—pushing people to think bigger, act boldly, and pursue their dreams with confidence. Hence, in those 3 months, my heart, travel journal, and camera were all full. 📲 Building on a post I saw earlier this morning, virtual field trips are an effective way to bring immersive learning experiences into the classroom without having to leave the classroom. Virtual field trips are cost-effective, offer a great learning experience and are easy to access. Another significant part of virtual field trips is that you don't have to travel a long distance; the field trip comes straight to you! 🖼 Canada offers a plethora of virtual field trip options, each more exciting than the last. The possibilities are endless, from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, the Toronto Zoo, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Ontario Science Centre, and many more. 👩🏫 As a history teacher, I can incorporate virtual field trips into my lessons. They are a convenient way to bring fun into the classroom, enhancing the learning experience and increasing engagement. Incorporating virtual trips to museums for a history course is a great way to promote cultural awareness and diversity. Museums often feature exhibits of different cultures and societies across different times and spaces. They can aid students in comparing and contrasting cultural practices, helping them to develop a broader understanding of global diversity and social change. #virtualfieldtrip #globaldiversity #history #techtools
