I’m excited to share that I’ve completed the AWS Storage Data Migration Knowledge Readiness Path on AWS Skill Builder. This course was packed with invaluable insights, and I wanted to highlight five key takeaways from my learning journey: 1. 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀: Gained an understanding of lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting methods, ensuring minimal disruption during migration. 2. 𝗔𝗪𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Explored services like AWS Snowball, AWS DataSync, and AWS Storage Gateway for efficient data transfers. 3. 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Learned the best practices for planning and executing successful data migrations, including key performance and security considerations. 4. 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Discovered how to seamlessly integrate on-premise and cloud storage systems for hybrid cloud environments. 5. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Learned how to optimize costs and resources when moving data to the cloud, ensuring efficient usage of AWS services.
