As we prepare to socialise our sustainability strategy - ‘Giant Leap | Touchdown 2030’ - with our colleagues in the coming weeks, to get their ideas and feedback, we’ll be sharing some of the positive impacts we’ve already made to date on our sustainability journey. First up, our Planet Pillar - we switched to green electricity back in 2020, for both our Lisburn sites in Northern Ireland. This means that all of our value added, manufactured products - from endless conveyor belts and ZIP CLIP®️to cut rubber parts - for the last 5 years, have been powered by renewable energy. This isn’t just good news for our Scope 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, it’s also helping to reduce our customers’ Scope 3 emissions.⚡️☀️ 💨 Becoming a low carbon culture - and industry - will require us all to make changes. But action starts with awareness and learning - more on that soon! Our target is net zero by 2040 and by 2030 ‘We will be advanced on our journey towards achieving net zero Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions’. To ensure our roadmap to net zero is credible, we’ve committed to joining the Science Based Targets initiative. We’re currently in the application stage, so watch this space! #giantleap #sustainability #netzero #decarbonisation #carbonaccounting #giantsofbelting

Sustainability in Action with Tenderly Solutions #sustainability should not be just a topic of conversation but a call to action. It’s time for businesses across the EU to take tangible steps toward environmental stewardship. Commitments and heartfelt posts have their place, but nothing beats the satisfaction of executing a well-crafted contract that contributes to a greener future. Leveraging public procurement can be a powerful tool for change. Echoing the sentiment of the great American President Kennedy: 'Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.' In the context of our global environmental challenges, it's time to reframe this iconic quote to, 'Ask not what the world can do for you, but what you can do for the world.' The latest update to the Renewable Energy Directive EU/2023/2413 is ambitious, raising the EU's binding renewable target for 2030 to a minimum of 42.5%, aiming for 45%. This is a clarion call to nearly double our current share of renewable energy. The attached graphic from Eurostat highlights the progress and 2020 targets of EU countries in renewable energy use. This 42.5% isn't just a number; it's a roadmap to a sustainable future and a healthier economy. We are committed to being at the forefront of this transformation. Our platform is not just a business tool; it's a gateway to making a difference. We invite you to join us in competing for opportunities that will drive economic growth and protect our planet. It's time to roll up your sleeves and make your mark. With Tenderly Solutions, you're not just winning contracts; you're building a legacy of sustainability. #sustainability #greenenergy #opportunityawaits

With Q1 nearly behind us, and Veolia Group's new strategic programme 'GreenUp' laying out our priorities for the year ahead, it's an exciting time for the Industrial Water & Energy Business Development team, who are now organised into five key areas: ⚡ Industrial Energy, Water & Local Loops 💡 Building Energy Services 📊 Technical Facilities Management 👷 On-site Services including Total Waste Management and Industrial Site Services 💧 Municipal Water By investing in growing our team across these five areas, we can maximise support for our customers, helping them to achieve their Net Zero carbon goals, as well as supporting them to regenerate resources across water treatment, and depollute to achieve Net Zero untreated pollutants. Local energy and water technologies make up two of the three growth areas of GreenUp, so Veolia UK's industrial teams will play a vital role as this plan is rolled out globally in order to achieve ecological transformation. It's been great to work with the team to reflect on the transition into our new structure, and look ahead to how we can help our customers to 'GreenUp'. #GreenUp #Decarbonisation #Growth #EcologicalTransformation

Our Managing Partners and Co-Founders Fraser Thompson and Shaun Chau spoke with Rachel Williamson from RenewEconomy on urging Australia to make "Big Bets" on Sustainable Aviation Fuels, Solar and Battery Recycling, and Green Exports. As Fraser Thompson outlined, to realise the potential of Australia's green and clean economy, we need investors to take the lead and build the lighthouse projects to create momentum. Three key messages on our "Big Bets" from our White Paper stand out in the article: 1. Australia, equipped with the prerequisites to be a global leader in areas like Sustainable Aviation Fuel and more specifically Power-to-Liquid (PtL), must expedite industry advancement by outlining the path to becoming a global leader. This will require initial projects to prove the potential, more R&D funding, and policy support from government and industry. 2. Researchers have identified the potential for a recycling and circular economy across Australia, highlighting solar panel recycling as a 680,000 tonne yearly opportunity by 2030 as one example. To achieve our recycling and circular economy potential, increased government support is essential, including potential initiatives like product bans and lifting state levies to fund recycling infrastructure. 3. To unlock our more than $300 billion clean export potential by 2040 (https://lnkd.in/ggKgz_Aa), leveraging our abundant solar, wind, and critical minerals, the Federal Government should incentivise clean export industries with potential measures like production tax credits or contracts for difference, providing short-term support for new entrepreneurs. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. ⬇ https://lnkd.in/gFa9PQZ5 Fraser Thompson Shaun Chau Ranya Alkadamani Kumbi Gutsa Michael Robinson
