My rule of thumb for front end: Flex for site/UI layouts, Grid for sections of content that requires stacked, grid-like elements that requires flexibility. Personally, I love Grid. There's no golden rule but I kind of like how Kevin Powell puts it in his clap back against Flexbox-only fans: https://lnkd.in/ghReMdfS #css #frontend #html #webdev #webdesign
No, Flexbox isn't "good enough"

After Effects Feature Request: Some way of distinguishing between comp types. At the moment your Main Timeline Comp, Scene Comps, Precomps (Used Once) and Precomps (Used Multiple Times) are all indistinguishable. You can put them in folders, but to the software, they are the same thing. When you make a v2 of your main timeline, all your comps should become v2s as well. When I make 9x16 and 1x1 social versions, After Effects should know these comps are partners with the main 16x9 timeline. If I update my 16x9 timeline, After Effects should flag that my 9x16 and 1x1 timelines are no longer in sync.

🤯 I did not know this existed and I just had to share it ⤵️ First up - hit SAVE so you can revisit this ✅ Secondly - If you want to work smarter and faster in Logic then visit the link below and I’ll send you my FREE Logic Pro X Cheatsheet ✅✅ The path looks like this: Logic Pro -- Settings -- Display -- Tracks 👉🏻 Then where it says "Track Color" 👉🏻 Track Colour -- Auto-assign – 96 Colours One step further, make sure that "Region Color" is changed to "As track colour". ✅ I have always just manually changed the colours and it has always chafed having to do that. It's one of those many Logic Pro tips that I had heard of but thought nothing of it...until now. If you want more tips & tricks like this for Logic visit this link: https://lnkd.in/ds72MX7K ✅✅ #gamechanger #logicpro #logicprotips #autocolorlogic #composer #musicproducer

Announcing Remotion Convert: The fastest video converter on the web! ⚡ Go to https://lnkd.in/dUNfiaqz and you'll be able to convert an MP4 to WebM, or vice versa. The conversion leverages a severely underrated browser feature called WebCodecs. It allows the conversion to happen locally and take full advantage of the hardware acceleration of your device! On my M2 MacBook, I see conversions that are at least 3x faster than the next-fastest website. I've been working on this project since this summer and it involved coding a parser and writer for MP4 and WebM files from absolute scratch. What's the play here? We plan on adding more formats and support for compressing, resizing, trimming, cropping, rotating and watermarking video files right in the browser! Usually, any app that works with video needs to do some of these operations. Even right now, when I am about to hit "Post" on LinkedIn, the video will be processed on their server! The goal is to allow moving some of these workloads to the browser. It makes applications easier to build and saves money. If you feel brave, you can try out an early version of @remotion/webcodecs, the package that powers Remotion Convert. See https://lnkd.in/djUBJnad for details!

Watched this awesome video by Kevin Powell this morning that focuses how flex shrink and flex grow can be utilized to keep your components uniform whenever they have slight differences. Flex box was so confusing for me until I found his channel, so I always recommend him for this topic and anything else CSS related. #cssflexbox #frontenddev https://lnkd.in/gzBzNm5w
