Here are some tips that I believe can be helpful for those new to business analysis or transitioning from another field: 1.Ask Relevant Questions: Dive deep into project dynamics by asking intelligent questions. 2.Listen and Observe: Pay attention to what's being said and notice the details. 3. Communicate Effectively: Ensure your communications—emails, presentations, meeting notes—are clear and precise. 4.Deliver Quality Work: Attention to detail is key. Aim to produce work that requires minimal revisions, showcasing your commitment to excellence. 5. Create a Knowledge Map: Organize the influx of information logically. 6. Shadow Team Members: Use your initial weeks to learn from colleagues. 7. Self-Reflect: Analyze scenarios and think of contingencies. 8. Act on Feedback: Embrace feedback as a learning opportunity. ✨Stepping into the World of Business Analysis! ✨ I have been dreading it and taking my time to simply believe it myself. I had officially graduated in February, but the reality had not sunk in. It seemed so surreal! I would like to just mark the day today and simply start. So, Today marks a significant milestone in my professional journey as I start the transition into the role of a Business Analyst after graduating with a Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Management. 📈💡 Reflecting on this journey, it’s been a blend of rigorous academic pursuits and hands-on experiences. My time at university was more than just lectures and textbooks- it was about diving deep into the world of data analytics, understanding the intricacies of business processes, and discovering how technology can be a game changer in all industries. Especially Insurance, healthcare and agriculture. 🌱💻 Growing up on a farm in Fiji, I always knew the importance of hard work and responsibility. Those early lessons, combined with the dedication of my parents who despite their illiteracy, found a way to support my education, have shaped my drive to continually learn and grow. From working as a Physiotherapist, to a Shift Lead in healthcare, to a telecommunications customer advisor, and now pivoting to business analysis, every step has taught me the value of empathy, communication, and strategic thinking. 🏥📞 I’m eager to bring my skills in project management, business process architecture, and analytical thinking to the forefront. I’ve seen firsthand how crucial it is to align business goals with technological advancements, and I'm passionate about creating solutions that make a difference 🤝🛠️ Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way! I’m excited to connect with professionals in the technology and consulting industry, and I look forward to learning, growing, and contributing to this dynamic field. #BusinessAnalysis #NewBeginnings #TechAndConsulting #CareerJourney #DataDrivenDecisions #BusinessTransformation

4 Things Every Business Analyst Must Have Before the Year Ends Few months back, I was chatting with a friend who, after almost a year of hard work, was wondering why she felt like she hadn’t grown as much as she’d hoped in her BA role. She was doing great work, no doubt, but it hit us, growth isn’t always about how much you do it’s about what you focus on. So, we mapped out the core things she needed to focus on, and by this last quarter, she was already seeing the impact. As we close out this year, here are 4 essentials every business analyst needs to make the most of what’s left of 2024 and to set up for a powerful 2025: 1. A Learning Mindset📚 Things change fast in our field. AI, data storytelling, new tools—the landscape keeps shifting. So ask yourself: what’s one skill or tool I’ve been meaning to learn? Maybe it’s SQL, advanced Excel techniques, or even a foundational understanding of machine learning. Block out time to level up in that area, and bring fresh insights to your projects. 2. Updated Portfolio of Work Your work is your brand. Keep your project examples and key deliverables organized, and select a few that showcase your strengths. Consider adding recent success stories, frameworks you've developed, or innovative solutions you've introduced. You’ll thank yourself later when you’re ready for that promotion or career move. 3. Stakeholder Relationships 🤝 As analysts, our work thrives on collaboration. Now is a great time to touch base with your key stakeholders. Have open conversations about how you’ve supported them and ask for feedback. Building trust is an investment—and it can be a game-changer for your projects and your growth. 4. A Clear 2025 Vision Goals shouldn’t just be for January. Start thinking about what you want out of next year. Is it a certification? A major project you want to own? More leadership responsibilities? Write it down. Make it real. Setting intentions now gives you clarity and momentum as the new year starts. So here’s my challenge for you: pick just ONE of these areas to focus on this month. By the end of the year, you’ll be glad you did—and you’ll set yourself up for an even stronger 2024. What will you work on first? #BusinessAnalyst #CareerGrowth #BusinessAnalysis #ProfessionalDevelopment
