Networking Opportunities 🌐: Platforms like LinkedIn let you connect with professionals in your field. Building a strong network can lead to job opportunities you might not find otherwise. Showcase Your Skills 🚀: You can use your profile to highlight your experience, skills, and achievements. This makes it easier for employers to see what you bring to the table. Job Alerts 📬: Set up alerts on job portals so you get notified about new openings that match your criteria. This way, you don’t miss out on any opportunities. 💡 Call to Action: If you’re job hunting, make sure to use job portals and networking sites. Relying solely on job boards to apply for jobs can have some disadvantages: 1. Limited options: Job boards may not have all available job listings, so you could be missing out on opportunities from companies that don't advertise on job boards. 2. Increased competition: Popular job boards attract a large number of applicants for each job posting, making it harder for your application to stand out. 3. Lack of personal connection: Applying through job boards can make it difficult to establish a personal connection with the hiring manager or show your enthusiasm for the position. 4. Limited networking opportunities: Networking is an important aspect of job searching, and relying solely on job boards may limit your ability to connect with professionals in your industry. 5. Missing out on hidden jobs: Many companies rely on referrals and internal promotions to fill positions, so not all job openings are advertised on job boards. It's always a good idea to complement your job search strategy by networking, reaching out to companies directly, and using a variety of job search methods in addition to job boards. #jobsearch #network

#PlatformsAndResourcesForJobHunt I recently switched jobs, so a lot of people have been reaching out to understand how I went job scouting in this bad economy. So, here is a list of platforms and actions which I resorted to in the order of their effectiveness. #1 IIMA alumni network - Undoubtedly, the biggest thing that we take from IIMA is its vast and helpful alumni network. But, just in case you don't have the pedigree of such an institution, building your own network would only benefit you. #2 LinkedIn approaches - Building an active and detailed LinkedIn profile will help attract the right recruiters to you. It is definitely becoming an annoying social media platform, but nonetheless, still very effective in securing you the right career opportunities. #3 Headhunters and recruitment agencies - These are the people who are always actively hiring for a variety of roles. Some of the top ones maintain websites wherein they put up job postings. So, do keep applying relentlessly on their platforms and handles and stay connected with them. #4 LinkedIn job listings - This seemed like a waste to me. In 2 months, I got a call back from only 1 good company. I believe that with the vast number of people who apply through these job listings, it's a game of luck, nothing else. But still, given that we must not leave any stone unturned, it is wise to sincerely apply for every job listing which is relevant and attractive for you. #5 Naukri.com - Ah, I had the worst experience with them. Even paid for a premium service, but got hardly 1 relevant call back. Maybe in times of good market, Naukri.com genuinely helps people, but for me, personally, it was a major waste and 0 ROI. As I mentioned before, the above list and order of preference is totally based on my personal experience, which may or may not work for others. Regardless, good things come to those who hustle, and hustle is what we shall ! Best of luck, and happy job hunting ! #jobs #jobhunting #recruiters #careeradvice
