From time to time, I remember the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. The truth is, the greatest issue is not the number of talents you have, but what have you done with the talents. The more I think about this parable in light of my parenting, I have concluded that it is important that our children see us refining, using and multiplying our talents. It gives the confidence and assurance that I saw mom or dad do it so I can as well. Let us not underestimate the power of a good example. And let us endeavor to be a good example.
